Skoda Kushaq FAQs

Budget-conscious buyers should consider the Skoda Kushaq Classic+ variant. Despite being the entry-level model, it comes well equipped with alloy wheels, automatic climate control, rain-sensing wipers, rear wash-wipe, an auto-dimming IRVM and a sunroof as standard. This variant offers all the essentials most buyers need without feeling like a stripped-down base variant.

I need a suggestion. I travel around 30 km daily and am confused between two models: the Skoda Kushaq 1.5 and the Volkswagen Taigun 1.5. Please suggest which one is the better buy in terms of overall ownership.

Both the Kushaq and Taigun are mechanically identical, sharing the same 1.5 TSI engine + dual-clutch automatic gearbox options and chassis, so the driving experience is essentially the same. The decision comes down to brand preference, dealership experience and minor differences in interior design and feature packaging. The Volkswagen Taigun's design and interior feel slightly more premium, but the difference is marginal. At the end, besides aesthetics, see which brand is getting you a better deal. You won't go wrong with either.

Dear Autocar Team, I already own a Kushaq 1.5 TSI Manual, and I am looking to buy a B-segment SUV. I am confused between the Hyundai Creta IVT and the Kia Seltos Turbo DCT. Could you please help me choose the better option?

Since you already own a Skoda Kushaq 1.5 TSI manual, you are already enjoying a strong turbo petrol engine and a genuinely engaging driving experience. The Creta IVT is a naturally aspirated petrol with a CVT, which is smooth and easy in traffic but will feel like a step down in performance and driving enjoyment compared to your Kushaq. The Seltos turbo petrol DCT is the better fit here. It gives you the performance you are used to, a more premium cabin, and a genuinely enjoyable driving experience. The DCT is not as smooth as the IVT in stop-start traffic, but it is the more engaging car overall and will feel like a proper upgrade rather than a compromise. The Seltos also feels more premium inside and is the more satisfying car to own alongside your Kushaq.

My budget is Rs 18.5 lakh, and I am getting the Creta S(O) IVT and Kushaq Signature AT. I am confused between the two. Around 90% of my usage is in the city, and I need a good automatic car. My preferences are: 1. Three people should be able to sit comfortably in the rear seat. 2. Good driving quality and build quality. 3. Good AC performance. 4. Low maintenance and peace of mind. Could you please suggest one between these two? Thank you.

Between your picks, the Hyundai Creta fits your needs better. Its rear seat is wider than the Kushaq's, the IVT is seamless and very relaxing to drive in the city, and Hyundai has a great reputation for after-sales service. The AC is also strong, and the build quality is solid. The Skoda Kushaq is the better choice for highway use. Its turbo-petrol engine offers stronger performance for quick overtakes, the 8-speed automatic feels more responsive than the Hyundai's IVT, and it is more engaging to drive. The Skoda Kushaq mileage ranges from 18.72 kpl to 19.66 kpl, depending on the chosen powertrain option. Its AC performance has also improved significantly with the recent facelift, but the cabin is not as roomy as the Creta's.Overall, the Hyundai car mentioned above is the better fit for your needs.

I have a 2021 Skoda Kushaq 1.0 TSI Petrol AT and a 2025 Mahindra XUV 3XO AX5 Petrol AT. We have decided to buy the Mahindra XEV 9S between December and February. The Kushaq has covered 31,100 km and is expected to reach around 33,000 km by then, while the XUV 3XO has covered 10,700 km and is expected to reach around 12,000 km by the time the XEV 9S arrives. Mahindra XUV 3XO is being sold for Rs. 14,30,000 and Skoda Kushaq 1.0 TSI Petrol AT is being sold for Rs. 14,60,000. Can you suggest which one I should sell after buying the Mahindra XEV 9S? Please advise based on practicality and financial considerations. I would be glad to hear your advice.

Sell the Skoda Kushaq 1.0 TSI AT and keep the Mahindra XUV 3XO AX5 petrol AT. The Kushaq is already four years old and will be around 33,000 km by the time the XEV 9S arrives, so you are already past the steepest part of the depreciation curve. The XUV 3XO is a much newer car with only 12,000 km on the clock, so you are still in the early years of ownership where depreciation is highest. From a financial perspective, it makes more sense to sell the older car and retain the newer one. From a practicality perspective, this Mahindra car is also the better car to keep. It is one of the most spacious compact SUVs in the segment, with a wide cabin that makes it a genuinely comfortable five-seater. It is also a very well-rounded car with good safety credentials and a strong ownership proposition. The Kushaq is slightly larger and more engaging to drive, but those aren't reasons enough to keep it over the 3XO.

Hello Autocar, I am looking for a vehicle primarily for urban use, with occasional long-distance travel. My priorities include fuel efficiency, an engaging driving experience, ample space for five occupants, and a sufficient boot capacity. My budget is between Rs. 10 lakh and Rs. 16 lakh. I am currently considering the new Maruti Suzuki Brezza and the Skoda Kushaq. I would appreciate your expert recommendation.

Go for the Skoda Kushaq 1.0 TSI. It is the better fit for your requirements. The Kushaq is one of the most engaging cars to drive in this price range, with a strong turbo petrol engine and a well-sorted chassis that makes both city driving and highway runs enjoyable. It is also genuinely spacious for five occupants and has a decent boot, which makes it a practical family car. The Skoda Kushaq mileage ranges from 18.72 kpl to 19.66 kpl, depending on the chosen powertrain option. The Brezza is a very sensible choice with excellent reliability and low running costs. It also now comes with a turbo petrol, but it is not as engaging to drive and does not feel as premium inside. The Kushaq strikes a better balance for your needs. The only caveat is that Skoda's service network is not as extensive as Maruti's.
