The Maruti Wagon R is an incredibly functional budget car that offers a lot of space and practicality at its price point. While it is not a driver's car, it still has all everything you would expect from a budget-oriented hatchback, making it a value-for-money offering.
Currently driving a Wagon R, looking to upgrade with a budget of around 11-12 lakhs on road. Mostly city driving with one long trip a year. What would you actually recommend, confused with too many options.
I own a 2012 Wagon R and now want to buy a new car with a budget of Rs. 11 lakh. My monthly running is about 700-750 km, with half of it in the city and the other half on highways. Please suggest a car with good mileage and a smooth, refined, and quiet engine. I am 65+ years old.
With a budget of Rs 11 lakh, a monthly running of 700-750 km split between city and highway, and a priority on refinement and ease of use, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno petrol automatic is the most sensible upgrade from your Wagon R. The Baleno offers a smooth and refined four cylinder petrol engine, a comfortable ride and a spacious cabin, making it easy to drive in the city while remaining stable and relaxed on the highway. It is also one of the most fuel-efficient petrol cars in its segment, which will help keep running costs in check. The automatic gearbox is reliable, making it particularly well-suited for your usage pattern. Maruti's wide service network and low maintenance costs further add to the ownership peace of mind. If you prefer a slightly higher seating position, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx petrol automatic is a good alternative, offering a similar experience with better visibility and a more SUV-like stance, though it will be slightly less fuel-efficient than the Baleno. Overall, the Baleno strikes the best balance between refinement, efficiency and ease of ownership for your requirements.
Hello I want a car which have low maintenance and better mileage. I have to run 300 kms 3 times a week in single run please suggest me a car in 5-6 lakh range. I am thinking about wagon r vxi Agar wagon r vxi me maruti touch screen leta hu to
I am planning to buy my first family car strictly under 6.5 lakh - 7 lakh (on-road) in Karnataka. My usage will be mainly local commute of 15-18 km daily and highway trips of approximately 300 km to hometown. I'm looking for a practical, reliable and low-maintenance vehicle, and therefore, I am leaning towards petrol with manual transmission. Features that I'm looking for include decent AC, all-4 power windows and central locking along with sufficient rear seat space for 2 adults and a boot big enough to accomodate 2-3 trolley bags. I have shortlisted Maruti Wagon R VXi 1.0 and Maruti Swift LXi. We have excluded Baleno as it wouldn't fit our parking space. I'm also excluding Renault and Citroen as these brands do not have a presence near where I live. I do not wish to consider Tata due to on-going bad experience with service that my friends are facing. Please share your opinion about these two models or any other reliable car that I might be missing out on.
Go for the Maruti Suzuki Swift LXi. Your usage pattern is a mix of daily city commuting and occasional 300km highway runs, and the Swift is the better all-rounder for this. It offers a more comfortable ride, better highway stability and a more refined driving experience compared to the Wagon R. The rear seat has enough space for two adults, and the boot is big enough to suit your requirement of carrying 2-3 trolley bags. The Wagon R is a very practical city car with a tall-boy design and good headroom, but it is not as comfortable or as confidence-inspiring on the highway. Both cars are equally reliable and low-maintenance, but the Swift feels like a more complete car overall.
