The key is to buy from a trusted source, check service history and get the car inspected. With your running, a petrol car makes the most sense. If you can stretch your budget by Rs 1-2 lakh, you could consider a new Maruti Alto K10 or Renault Kwid, but at Rs. 4 lakh, a good used car will give you a far better ownership experience.
