Hi, I am a first-time car buyer and want a 7-seater car. My budget is Rs 10 to 11 lakh.
The Renault Triber would be a good option for you and would fit your budget. The MPV is compact and thus easily manageable in city streets, and despite its small footprint, the third row of seats is surprisingly usable. However, the engine is quite down on power, so it needs to be worked harder on highway drives or when the car is fully loaded.
If you want something bigger with a more powerful engine, you could opt for the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. However, this would be at the top end of your budget, with higher variants crossing it.

Keeping your priorities in mind, two good options are the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Maruti Suzuki XL6. Between the two, the XL6 will cost you roughly Rs 60,000 more for a comparable variant, but you get a more upmarket cabin and a slightly more stylish exterior. In your budget, the Ertiga ZXi and XL6 Zeta are good picks, as both come equipped with almost all the features you’re likely to need.
Another option worth considering is the Citroen Aircross X Turbo. It has a strong engine and offers excellent ride comfort, especially on bad roads. However, it won’t match the Maruti duo in terms of fuel efficiency.

There are quite a few 7-seater options under Rs 15 lakh, and it's hard to pinpoint one without knowing your specific requirements. Thus, we would recommend the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga or its sister car, the Toyota Rumion, as they are very good all-rounders. The third row is quite spacious, and moreover at your budget you will get a decently equipped one too.

Since you are a family of 5 and open to the idea of a 7-seater, we would recommend opting for a 7-seater, as every member of your family can sit in comfort. We would suggest you look at the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga or its sister car, the Toyota Rumion, as they offer a fairly spacious third row of seats and are powered by an efficient 1.5-litre petrol engine.
The ride is also very good, and at highway speeds, it's stable. Though over undulating roads, it does have some vertical movement at the rear, but it's never excessive.

A new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is unlikely to be launched this year, but the next-gen model, which is likely to come with a hybrid option, isn’t due before 2028. It is likely, though, that Maruti Suzuki could give the existing Ertiga a few minor tweaks to keep it fresh until the new model arrives.

There are 7 to 8 members in my family. I am looking for a car within a budget of ₹9-10 lakh. Please suggest suitable options.
In your Rs 10 lakh budget, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga LXi is your best. It is quite spacious and can comfortably seat seven adults, and its 1.5-litre petrol engine is refined and efficient. Also, with light controls, good visibility, and smooth power delivery, this Maruti car is very user-friendly, too.
Another option is the Renault Triber, which is surprisingly spacious, despite its smaller dimensions. You'll also get more features with the Triber, in your budget, hence from a value point of view, it is a better option.
However, the Triber's 1.0-litre petrol engine doesn't feel as effortless as the Maruti's 1.5-litre. Its engine of this Renault car works best for sedate driving, but on the highway. It feels underpowered, especially with a full load of passengers. Hence, if you drive regularly on the highway, go for the Ertiga instead.

The Maruti Suzuki Brezza is a good choice for your requirements. It is economical to run and maintain, and promises a stress-free ownership experience. What also works in the Brezza's favour is a roomy enough cabin, comfortable seats and plush ride comfort.
If you are open to the MPV body style, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is also worth a look. It's comfortable and works surprisingly well as a chauffeur-driven vehicle. If you want a spacious vehicle within a small footprint, there's also the Kia Syros that you could look at. However, maintenance will be costlier than with a Brezza.

It has a slightly more upmarket interior, more features, and better cabin space compared to a Maruti Ertiga. The HTE O variant is well-equipped and should easily fit your budget.
