I want to swap my Tata Harrier Diesel AT 2022 model, which has done 45,000 km, with a Jeep Compass Limited AT 2022 model, which has done 30,000 km. My driving is mostly in the city. Is it a wise decision? I am being told that the maintenance costs of the Compass are very high.

Your Tata Harrier is powered by the same 2.0 diesel engine as the Jeep Compass; however, while the Harrier gets a 6-speed torque converter, the Jeep uses a 9-speeder which isn't as responsive as the Tata's.Sure, the Compass is a more premium-feeling SUV with a better-finished cabin and a more compact footprint, which can be helpful in the city. However, it is not significantly more refined or easier to live with than the Harrier, and even spare and maintenance costs for the Compass are higher than average.Given that your Harrier is a 2022 model with 45,000 km, and the Compass is also a 2022 model with 30,000 km, the swap only makes sense if you are getting a very favourable financial deal. Otherwise, you are merely exchanging one diesel SUV for another.

Decision Help: Citroen Basalt X vs. Jeep Compass Automatic (Insights on Suspension & Highway Loads) Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice on deciding between the Citroen Basalt X (top-end model) and a Jeep Compass automatic (any variant). To give you some context on my driving habits: City Driving: I clock approximately 1,000 km a month in the city, dealing with daily traffic, bad roads, and potholes. Highway Driving: I don't do weekly highway commutes, but I do take a long road trip covering 2,000 to 3,000 km once every 3 or 4 months. Current Ride Baseline: Right now, I drive a Citroen C5 Aircross. I haven't had any issues with its suspension, though to be honest, I can't quite tell if it's on the firmer or softer side because it manages to feel both firm and soft at different times depending on the road. I have a few specific questions regarding how the Basalt and Compass compare for my use case: City Comfort & Spine Support: Given my heavy city usage, how does the Basalt’s notoriously soft suspension setup compare to the Compass’s firmer ride? The Compass is famously planted, but I'm worried its firm setup will transmit too many city potholes into the cabin and lack good spine support on bad roads. Will the Basalt be vastly more comfortable here? Highway Stability & Body Roll (Solo vs. Fully Loaded): I know the Jeep Compass is an absolute champ on the highway. I want to know how the Basalt behaves at cruising speeds between 100 to 120 km/h. Specifically: 1. How different or pronounced is the body roll when driving completely solo vs. when the car is fully loaded with a family and a trunk full of heavy luggage? 2. Does a heavy payload cause a drastic, potentially dangerous difference in how the Basalt's soft suspension handles high-speed turns or sudden braking? Highway Disadvantages: What are the practical disadvantages or dealbreakers of taking the Citroen Basalt X out on long highway stretches at higher speeds? Is there anything else I should be considering while comparing these two cars? Note: Please do not suggest any other vehicles or brands. I am strictly looking only into Stellantis vehicles. Looking forward to your insights and ownership experiences!

Hi, I’m planning to buy within the next 2 - 3 months and am prioritizing Stellantis vehicles. I currently drive a Citroën C5 Aircross, and I’m deciding between: - Citroën C3 Aircross Basalt X (Petrol Turbo Automatic, Dual-Tone) - Jeep Compass Longitude Opt (FWD Automatic) My usage is mixed city and long-distance highway. 1. NVH: - How do these two compare in cabin noise, engine refinement, and ride comfort? - Coming from a C5 Aircross (where I comfortably drive 12–14 hours without fatigue), how different will NVH feel in the Basalt X and Compass? - Can I realistically expect similar long-drive comfort from either? 2. Average year-on-year ownership costs I’m looking for ballpark YoY estimates per year for: - Routine maintenance/service - Insurance renewal - Miscellaneous (tyres, consumables, minor repairs) I’ve heard Jeep Compass ownership can be costlier than the C5 Aircross—is that true in practice? 3. Isobutanol-blended diesel & Stellantis engines - Does anyone have info on isobutanol-blended diesel and its impact on Jeep or other Stellantis diesel engines? - Are there known risks, precautions, or warranty concerns? I’m prioritizing Stellantis (Citroën/Jeep). Any insights from your testing or expert evaluation would be extremely valuable. Thanks in advance!

I am planning to buy a new car. My budget is around Rs 30 lakh. My final two choices are: 1. XUV 7XO AX7T 2. Tata Harrier Fearless Ultra / Ultra Dark Red. Key considerations: petrol only, automatic transmission, TC is fine; not specifically looking for a DCT, good power and pickup, safety, fun to drive / good driving dynamics, average driving: 7,000- 10,000 km per year. I have driven the Jeep Compass Petrol for 4 years and love its driving dynamics and solid feel. That is the benchmark for me. I am not going for the Compass again because it is an older model and no longer available with a petrol engine.

Go for the Mahindra XUV 7XO AX7T petrol automatic. It is the better fit for your requirements. The 2.0 turbo petrol is a strong engine with good power and pickup, and the 8-speed torque converter automatic is smooth and well-suited to both city and highway driving. This Mahindra car also has a solid, planted feel on the road and good high-speed stability, which is something you will appreciate coming from the Compass. It is also a more modern package overall, with a richer feature set and a more premium cabin experience. The Tata Harrier petrol is a good car, but the 1.5-litre turbo petrol is not as powerful as the Mahindra engine. The Harrier's strength used to be its ride comfort, but with the update, the 7XO matches that too.Between the two, the 7XO is the more complete car.

Hi Team, I am planning to buy a diesel car(as I love driving a diesel). Shortlisted roxx and compass. Compass Limited (o) is costing 8-10 lakhs more than the roxx. Roxx is an experience and feel that comes with driving a thar. But compass suits my temperament better in terms of driving dynamics. Do you think spending that extra money on compass would be worth it? Or should I be buying a roxx, save up that extra money, and spend it on travelling? I'm the person who prefers driving to places instead of flying or taking public transport.
