Yes, the interior does not feel as premium as the Compass, and Mahindra’s tech can be a bit hit or miss, but overall, it delivers the most well-rounded experience for your usage.The Jeep Compass diesel is great to drive and feels the most premium inside, and if your usage was more solo driving or shorter trips, it would be very tempting. Upon inspection, a broken bolt from the front assembly was found detached. This appears to indicate a serious manufacturing or component defect and raises significant safety concerns.

Treat this as a serious safety issue and do not drive the car. Get it flatbed-towed to an authorised Jeep Compass workshop, keep the broken bolt with you, and click clear photos of the part, the area it came from, and the car’s VIN and odometer. Ask the workshop to open and check the full steering and front suspension on both sides, not just the one bolt. That means the steering rack mounts, tie-rod ends, lower arms, subframe mounts and all related fasteners. Ask for a written report that explains what failed, why it failed, and what they will change.Insist that all affected parts and bolts are replaced, not reused, and that they do a full torque check with markings you can see. If the car is in warranty, this should be free. Even if it is out of warranty, please ask Jeep for a goodwill repair, as this is a safety issue. Request a loaner car until your car is fixed and tested.Email Jeep India customer care with a simple timeline, photos, VIN, and copies of the job card, and cc the dealer’s service head. I own a 2017 Skoda Yeti from the last batch, which has completed 1,30,000 km on the odometer. While care and periodic maintenance will keep the Yeti running, issues are bound to crop up every now and then. Hence, there is a case for a new vehicle. The best bet in your budget is the Mahindra XUV 7XO diesel-AT in fully loaded AX7 T form. It's got a strong diesel engine, smooth gearbox, and, as someone used to a Yeti, you'll appreciate the ride and handling balance too. The XUV 7XO is also packed with lots of tech and features, which really make it feel like a good value even at its price.Alternatively, you could consider the Jeep Compass, which, like your Yeti, comes across as a solidly engineered product. It has been around for quite some time now, but there's a toughness that shines through, and ride and handling are also really good. The 9-speed gearbox dulls some of the engine's performance, though. The Compass is also not very large for its price - something that also worked against the Yeti.
