Kushaq, C3, or i20 IVT?
Hyundai i20 price in Gyalshing
On-road in Gyalshing, the base model 1.2 Petrol Era MT starts at 6.75 lakh and the top model 1.0 Turbo Petrol N-Line N8 DCT reaches 13.27 lakh. The 1.2 Petrol Sportz IVT sits between the two at 9.98 lakh.
If you are financing the car, a loan of 6,10,000 on the base model 1.2 Petrol Era MT means an EMI of 9,814 a month. Stepping up to the top model 1.0 Turbo Petrol N-Line N8 DCT raises that to 19,146 on a loan of 11,90,000.
Why prices change from the base model to the top model:
The base model 1.2 Petrol Era MT uses the 1197cc petrol with a manual gearbox, while the top model 1.0 Turbo Petrol N-Line N8 DCT pairs the 998cc turbo with the dual-clutch automatic.
Moving to the turbo engine costs more than moving up a variant level does.
Three gearboxes are offered across the range, and both automatics cost more than the manual.
The 10.25-inch touchscreen, the Bose sound system and the built-in dashcam sit near the top of the range.
The electric sunroof and wireless charging appear part way up rather than at the bottom.
Registration, road tax and insurance are added to the ex-showroom figure, and how much they add depends on the state you buy in. That is why the same variant costs more in one city than another.

Hyundai i20 FAQs
Questions you may find useful
Hello. We currently own a Renault Fluence 1.5 dCi and a Hyundai i10 Automatic. We are now looking to replace the i10 with another compact car, and I am confused between the Skoda Kylaq, Citroen C3 and Hyundai i20 IVT. Before the Fluence, we owned a Fiat Palio Diesel 1.9. The new car will primarily be used for city driving.
For primarily city use, the Hyundai i20 IVT is the best fit. Its 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine is smooth and refined, offering good drivability in the city. The IVT automatic is also seamless and makes everyday city driving very convenient. It will also be more fuel-efficient than the turbo-petrol Skoda Kylaq and Citroen C3. The Kylaq is worth considering if you do more highway driving or need the added ground clearance.Overall, the i20 is a good upgrade over your i10 and makes for a great city runabout.
I’m being offered the Hyundai i20 Magna Executive at Rs 6 lakh on-road, but I’m unsure about its fuel efficiency and performance. Are there any other cars I should consider in this price range?
The price you are getting the Hyundai i20 for is very good as for your mileage query, the i20 does have a decent fuel efficiency and you could expect around 12 to 15 kpl on a mixed city and highway use, depending of course on your driving style and conditions. If mileage is a key concern, then you could consider the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, which, in like-for-like conditions, would return better efficiency. However, you would likely have to pay a bit more in the purchase price, as the offers and discounts on the Baleno would not be as attractive as those on the i20. Thus, if you are not driving a lot, then the money you are saving with the lower purchase price on the i20 would offset the slightly lower efficiency.
I need a second car with a maximum budget of Rs 13.5 lakh (on-road). My top priorities are performance and driving feel. I am confused between the Hyundai i20 N Line and the Skoda Kylaq Signature+ (both automatics). Which one is better for pure driving pleasure, given my running split is 70% highway and 30% city?
Both models on your shortlist are enjoyable cars to drive. The Skoda Kylaq feels punchy and solidly put together and also offers a crucial bit more ground clearance than the Hyundai i20. It's also got the smoother gearbox. However, for someone buying a car primarily for driving feel with the majority of use on the highway, the i20 N line gets our vote. Performance is good but it's the tweaked suspension and steering that really uplift the N Line to make it feel properly involving to drive in corners. This Hyundai car also looks sportier thanks to the visual upgrades outside and inside, while the slightly enhanced soundtrack from the exhaust is a happy reminder that you are driving something special.
Hi Autocar Team, I am currently driving a Hyundai Elite i20 Asta petrol manual. So far, I feel it is the best-designed car in its segment, offering great comfort and mileage that varies depending on traffic conditions. I was wondering if I could give it a facelift by replacing the front section with that of the new-generation i20. My second thought is whether I should wait for the new Hyundai Bayon or if a facelifted Hyundai i20 or Hyundai Verna is expected. I find the rear design of the new-generation i20 disappointing, and I still feel that the Elite i20 I currently own is the best-looking version. What are your thoughts?
The best option is to hold on to your Elite i20 for now rather than modify its front end or replace it purely in anticipation of a new model. Since you value its design, comfort and fuel efficiency, a newer car needs to offer a meaningful improvement in those areas to justify the expense. A facelift using the next-generation i20's front end would also be a custom modification rather than a straightforward factory upgrade, with potential issues around body panels, lighting, fitment and insurance. The Hyundai Bayon is worth waiting for, particularly if you want something newer without giving up Hyundai's everyday usability. Its India launch is confirmed for 26 October 2026, with a 1.5-litre petrol engine and manual or IVT automatic options. However, Autocar India has not tested it yet, so its ride comfort, real-world mileage and driving experience remain to be assessed. There is no confirmed India launch date for the next-generation i20, while the Verna has already received a facelift in 2026. Since the Elite i20's design matters so much to you, replacing its front end with newer i20 components is unlikely to be a straightforward or cost effective modification.
I am looking for a good B2-segment car. My requirements are that the mid variant should cost less than Rs. 10 lakh on-road in Bangalore, with a 70:30 city-to-highway driving ratio. I am looking for decent fuel economy of around 13-15 kmpl in the city and 18-20 kmpl on the highway, along with a manual transmission and a 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated engine. Currently, I’m confused between the Hyundai i20 Sportz and the third-generation Honda Amaze.
Between your two picks, the Honda Amaze is the better fit. Your requirements are very clear: a naturally aspirated 4-cylinder engine, manual transmission, good fuel efficiency and a budget of under Rs 10 lakh on-road in Bangalore. The Amaze's 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine is smooth, refined and reliable, and Honda’s long-term ownership reputation is excellent. The Amaze also offers a comfortable ride, a spacious cabin and a large boot, making it a practical choice for both city and highway use. Your 70:30 city-to-highway split means comfort and efficiency matter more than outright performance, and the Amaze delivers well on both fronts. The Hyundai i20 is a good car, but the 1.2-litre engine is not as efficient or refined as the Honda’s, and the i20’s higher variants can push the budget. Overall, the Amaze is the more sensible and satisfying long-term choice for your requirements.
