Trending Questions on Hyundai Grand i10 Nios - Answered by Autocar Experts
I am a senior citizen, and my weekly car use is around 100 km within the city, with occasional highway trips every 3-4 months. I have shortlisted the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and the Tata Punch Pure Plus. My main priorities are value for money, long-term reliability, and ease of ownership. Considering my usage and requirements, which of these two cars would be the better choice in the long run?
Both are very good cars, but in the long run, the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios would be the better option for you overall. Yes, it is quite an old model now, but it remains strong in its core values of practicality, ease of use, quality, refinement and fuel efficiency.
It's easy to get in and out of; the steering is light, aiding manoeuvrability; the engine is smooth and has more than enough gusto when you need it; and it has a good feature set at this price, too.
Most of all, however, long-term maintenance will be a breeze, as Hyundai has developed a strong reputation for reliability and reasonable maintenance costs.
I own Nissan Micra XVCVT,2013 Year.I want to go for exchange.I want to go for Hyundai I10 Nios Corporate semi Automatic car.Your suggestion required.Eagerly awaiting your positive Reply.
The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Petrol-AMT is an excellent, user-friendly city car. The engine is smooth, refined and fuel-efficient. Do keep in mind that the drive experience with the AMT will not be nearly as seamless as your Micra CVT, however by AMT standards, the Nios' unit is quite smooth. So if you are on a tight budget, go for the Nios. But if you can extend your budget slightly, we'd highly recommend you to consider the Hyundai i20 Magna Petrol-IVT. Not only is the i20 a much bigger, more spacious and more premium offering, but its petrol-IVT combination is smooth and seamless, something as a Nissan Micra CVT owner, you will appreciate.
I want to purchase a first car for my daughter. I am interested in an automatic car mainly for city use. Monthly usage will be approximately 1,200 km. The car should be under ₹9 lakh. How is the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, and what mileage can I expect from the AMT?
I am looking for an automatic car for city commuting. My average monthly running will be around 1,000 km. My budget is around Rs 10 lakh. I have shortlisted the Honda Amaze VX, Hyundai i20 Sportz, and Hyundai Nios. Please suggest which one I should buy.
I find my i10 suspension too soft. I can feel even the slightest bump on the road. Is there any way to ask the service centre to tune it?
I am a newly learned driver and want to buy a car up to ₹10 lakh. I prefer a model that is easy to drive in the city and simple to park. Could you suggest which car is better for me?
You may consider the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, which is compact for the city, and with light controls and good visibility all around, it is very easy to drive. If you prefer the 'SUV-like' high seating position, and something a bit more spacious, you could consider the Nissan Magnite too.
I have been your regular follower for more than two decades. I’m confused between the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Asta AMT and the Maruti Suzuki Ignis Alpha AGS. This car will primarily be driven by my wife. Please share your views.
Thank you for being our long-time reader and viewer; we really appreciate it!
While both cars are a little old now, they’re still very competent at what they do, and each has its own small advantages. The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios offers a better back seat and boot, in case that is your priority.
However, if it is not, we would recommend the Maruti Suzuki Ignis for a few reasons. It’s more fuel-efficient, with an ARAI-rated Maruti Ignis mileage of 20.89 kmpl. its slightly taller stance makes ingress and egress easier with great forward visibility. Plus, it’s a bit more compact, which really helps with maneuverability in the city.
I’m buying my first car and trying to decide between the Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios. My priority is rear-seat comfort for passengers aged 60+ years, mostly for intercity driving and occasional highway trips. Kindly suggest which of the two would be more suitable. Thank you.
I am new to driving and want to buy my first car. My average daily running will be around 60 to 80 km. I’m 6 feet tall, so comfort and safety are important to me. My budget is around Rs 7–8 lakh, and I’ll be buying the car on loan. Please suggest some good options that offer comfort, safety, and strong resale value in case I decide to exchange it in the future. Thank you, experts.
As a first car, a great all-rounder is the Maruti Suzuki Celerio 1.0 Petrol ZXi+. Its tall-boy design means it's spacious enough for a 6ft driver and it is among the most fuel efficient petrol cars on sale, given your extensive running of 60-80km per day. However, if you want to move up to something more premium in size and feel, consider a Maruti Suzuki Swift VXI (O) MT or a Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Sportz (O) MT, although at your budget, only these mid-range models will be available.
Which car should I buy in the ₹10-12 lakh price bracket, especially for daily city commuting of 10–15 km using CNG?
Given your requirements, you should consider the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Tata Tiago hatchbacks, all of which get CNG options. However, the i10 Nios and Tiago offer a properly usable boot as the CNG tanks are placed under the boot, unlike the Swift. Furthermore, the Tata can also be had with an AMT automatic gearbox which will be more convenient for you on your daily city commute.
