•2wWhich car should I consider buying if I am planning to sell and upgrade from my 2018 Skoda Superb?

Autocar India
It's hard to guide you to the perfect fit without knowing more about your requirements and your budget. However, assuming it's a sedan that you are keen on, the ideal upgrade from a 2018 Skoda Superb would be a BMW 3 Series LWB. The long wheelbase opens up lots of legroom at the back, which is something you'd be used to from the Superb. The 3 Series LWB also delivers on ride comfort and is also very nice to drive. The 330Li petrol is particularly impressive. Further up the price ladder, there's the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. The interior is not just spacious but very well appointed, and feels properly luxurious. Refinement is fantastic too, and there are loads of features and tech packed into the model as well.

•7wI am confused between the BMW 320d and the Audi A6. Please help me choose one. My monthly commute will be 500-800 km.

Autocar India
The BMW 320d is a sporty sedan with a strong diesel engine and more engaging driving dynamics, but it sits in a segment below the Audi A6. The A6’s 2.0‑litre petrol engine is much smoother and more refined than the BMW’s diesel, which can feel a bit gruff in comparison. With your usage of just 500 to 800 km a month, a diesel really isn’t necessary, and you won’t fully benefit from its efficiency advantage.Where the BMW does score is in the cabin, which looks and feels more modern than the A6’s interior, which is now beginning to feel a bit dated. However, overall, the Audi A6 offers a more luxurious experience, a more refined powertrain and, with the attractive deals currently available in the market, becomes the better all-round choice despite not being as sporty to drive as the 320d.

•13wWhich one would you suggest between the BMW 330Li, Mercedes-Benz C300 and Audi A6? I want a performance-oriented and fun-to-drive car. Rear seat space is not a priority as the car will not be chauffeur-driven, though the family will sit behind on highway drives. I am not considering the M340i due to its lack of practicality. Based on test drives, 330Li is preferred currently. Please advise.

Autocar India
The BMW 330Li offers a good balance between ride comfort and handling, and its 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine delivers good performance. That said, the Mercedes C300 is great to drive, and on account of a more opulent interior, it feels a bit more special. The backseat isn't nearly as comfortable as the 330Li, and it is much more expensive than the BMW car, but if these two reasons aren't deal-breakers for you, then get the C300 - it feels sporty to drive without sacrificing the comfort you'd expect from a Mercedes-Benz car.

•13wI want to buy a new car with a budget of ₹62 to 63 lakh. I am confused between the BMW 3 Series LWB and the Mercedes-Benz C 220d. My monthly running will be around 700-800km, mostly on highways.

Autocar India
Both are excellent choices, and the decision comes down to your preference. The Mercedes-Benz C 220d has a more upmarket feeling and techie cabin, with a more advanced infotainment system that is easier to use. It's also quite a sharp handling sedan if you enjoy driving yourself. However, the BMW 3 Series LWB is also excellent to drive, and its longer wheelbase doesn't affect the dynamics all that much. Moreover, it is far superior in the back seat, thanks to that longer wheelbase, and so if you are chauffeur-driven, it is definitely the better choice.

•13wHello Autocar India, having recently sold my Mercedes GLC, I am looking to transition to a sedan that offers superior rear-seat comfort, lower maintenance costs, and stronger resale value. My absolute priority is the rear-seat experience for my parents, specifically a model with significant power-recline and a smooth ride. Considering the Camry, Lexus ES 300h, and German rivals like the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and Audi A6, which offers the best “boss-seat” experience?

Autocar India
Given the requirements you've listed out, it's hard to go wrong with the Lexus ES 300h. It's the only one in this price range that offers the power recline function at the rear; its ride quality is superb. Also, being a Toyota underneath, maintenance and services are fewer and more affordable than those of other luxury cars. The Toyota Camry is, of course, even better value, but it doesn't have the same luxurious interior as the Lexus. With German brands having got significantly more expensive lately, the Lexus has somehow remained in the lower price bracket. Alongside the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and BMW 3 Series LWB, which only further enhances its value proposition.

•16wHi, I am considering purchasing a car in the ₹70-80 lakh budget. I am confused between the Mercedes-Benz C300d and the BMW 330Li. Please advise whether I should opt for the six-cylinder 330Li or the four-cylinder C300d.

Autocar India
You have not mentioned your exact usage pattern, but if you are travelling long distances frequently and spend most of your time behind the wheel, the C300d makes sense due to its strong diesel engine, which is well-suited for highway driving. However, in most other respects, the 330Li is a better choice as its petrol engine is obviously smoother and more refined than the C300d’s diesel motor. To clarify, the engine powering the 330Li is BMW’s 2-litre, four-cylinder petrol and not a six-cylinder unit, so the number of cylinders should not be a deciding factor here.Crucially, the BMW 330Li has a longer wheelbase than the C300d, and that means more legroom and far better comfort for rear seat passengers compared to the tight rear seat in the C-class, which also suffers from inadequate under-thigh support.

•16wWhich is the best car around ₹75–80 lakh - preferably petrol - for a daily commute of about 60 km?

Autocar India
The BMW 330Li would be a good option to consider in this price point. It has a refined and powerful six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that offers an excellent driving experience, but at the same time, the long wheelbase allows it to have fantastic legroom at the rear. If you want to be chauffeur-driven but also enjoy driving by yourself, the 330Li will offer the best of both worlds.

•19wI own a 2017 BMW X1 and want to upgrade. My budget is up to ₹90 lakh and I prefer a petrol vehicle. Daily commute is about 30 km. I’ll drive the car myself on long weekend trips and use a chauffeur for daily driving. Please advise on the best options.

Autocar India
Since you are used to a BMW, you won't find the same driving pleasure in other brands. The BMW 330Li M Sport Pro is a superb option that has an excellent balance of driving dynamics with rear seat comfort. The long-wheelbase allows it to have a roomy rear seat, and the 3.0-litre straight-six engine is powerful and exciting as well. If you don't want an SUV, there is no better option than the 330Li.
