    Up to Rs 65,000 off on Tata cars and SUVs

    In the month of May 2019, Tata dealers across the country are offering benefits of up to Rs 65,000 on its cars and SUVs of the current model year with unsold stocks from the previous model years attracting heavier discounts in a bid to clear stocks.

    However, it must be noted that discounts on older model year cars depend on the availability of stocks at the dealerships.

    Here is a look at what you can expect.

    Tata Bolt
    Benefits up to Rs 65,000

    Until the arrival of the Altroz, the Tata Bolt was the carmaker’s large hatchback. The Bolt rivals the likes of the Hyundai Grand i10 and the Maruti Suzuki Swift. Offered with the choice of a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol or the ubiquitous Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre diesel engine, the Bolt is being offered with benefits of up to Rs 65,000; with cars from the 2018 model years being offered with additional discounts of up to Rs 20,000.

    Tata Zest
    Benefits up to Rs 65,000

    The Bolt’s compact sedan sibling, the Tata Zest sits above the newer Tigor in the company’s line-up as a direct rival to the range of compact sedans offered by the likes of Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Volkswagen and Honda. Offered with the same set of engines as the Bolt, the Zest is also available with discounts of up to Rs 65,000. The 2018 model, subject to availability, gets additional benefits of up Rs 20,000 over and above the benefits offered for the MY2019 compact sedan.

    Tata Tigor
    Benefits up to Rs 55,000

    The Tiago's compact sedan sibling, the Tata Tigor, is positioned half a segment below other compact sedans and offered with a choice of petrol and diesel engine options. Customers can avail benefits of up to Rs 55,000 for the current model year Tigor with MY2018 model car offered with additional benefits worth Rs 20,000. Tata is currently readying a second facelift for its compact sedan which will bring in tweaked styling and, more importantly, a BS-VI-compliant petrol engine. The facelift is expected to arrive later this year. 

    Tata Hexa
    Benefits up to Rs 55,000

    The Tata Hexa is a rival to the likes of the Toyota Innova Crysta and is currently the most expensive model in the manufacturer's portfolio. The Hexa is offered in either six- or seven-seat configuration with a diesel engine in two states of tune. The Hexa crossover is being offered with discounts of up to Rs 55,000 in the month of May. 2018 models can be had with benefits of up to Rs 20,000 over and above those offered on the MY2019 examples.

    For the 2019 model, Tata updated the Hexa with a larger touchscreen on its top variants, new paint shades and only offering the larger 19-inch alloys on the automatic models, as against all of its top-end trims.

    Tata Safari Storme
    Benefits up to Rs 50,000

    The Tata Safari Storme currently sits as one of the oldest models available in Tata’s range. Having received multiple updates and facelifts to keep it fresh over the years, the ageing SUV is powered by Tata’s 2.2-litre Varicor diesel engine in two states of tune, paired with either a 5-speed or 6-speed manual transmission, depending on the tune. The Safari Storme can be had with benefits of up to Rs 50,000. Dealerships are offering older Safari Storme models with additional benefits of up to Rs 20,000, depending on their availability.

    Tata Nexon
    Benefits up to Rs 40,000

    Tata’s entry into the highly competitive compact SUV segment, the Tata Nexon is being offered with benefits of up to Rs 40,000 for MY2019 cars with previous-year examples getting further discounts of up to Rs 20,000. The Nexon is offered with a choice of turbocharged petrol and diesel engine options; and the latter is being offered with the option of an AMT gearbox. The compact SUV goes up against the likes of the popular Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, the Ford EcoSport and the soon-to-be-launched Hyundai Venue. The compact SUV also holds the distinction of being the first 5-star safety rated made-in India car (Global NCAP).

    Tata Tiago
    Benefits up to Rs 25,000

    Rivalling the Maruti Suzuki Celerio and Hyundai Santro, the Tata Tiago is being offered with benefits of up to Rs 15,000 for all but the top XZ+ trim level. Additionally prospective customers can avail a benefit on insurance up to Rs 4,000. The top XZ+ trim, on the other hand, is being offered with benefits worth Rs 25,000. Buyers can also avail additional discounts of up to Rs 25,000 on the 2018 car, depending on availability. As with its compact sedan sibling, the Tiago is also set to receive a facelift later this year, which is expected to bring in tweaked styling, an improved equipment list and BS-VI-compliant engines.

    Tata Sumo Gold
    Benefits up to Rs 25,000

    Alongside the Safari, the Tata Sumo Gold is also one of the brand’s oldest cars currently on sale. The model of choice for moving large numbers of people, the nine-seater from Tata has become a popular choice of taxi operators in small towns and villages for its sheer people-moving ability and tractable engine. The ageing workhorse is being offered with benefits of up to Rs 25,000, subject to availability of stocks.

    Tata Nano
    Benefits up to Rs 25,000

    The model that, for almost a decade, marked the entry point into Tata’s range of passenger cars, the Tata Nano met its end with the roll-out of the new mandatory safety norms from April 2019. Offered with a 624cc, two-cylinder motor is paired with either a manual or AMT gearbox; and the car also comes with a factory-fit CNG option. The Nano is being offered with benefits of up to Rs 25,000, depending on the availability of stocks at dealerships.
