Skoda has introduced a new ‘Sportline’ trim for the current-gen Superb available globally. It comes with some cosmetic updates and new features. The Sportline trim sits atop the range and, as the name suggests, is marketed as a sportier version of the sedan.

  1. Superb Sportline gets blacked-out grille, ORVM caps
  2. Sits 15mm lower than the standard Superb
  3. Available in both sedan and estate forms

Skoda Superb Sportline: what’s new?

All the exterior chrome elements, including the radiator grille frame, window frames and the Skoda badging at the back, are blacked out. The mirror caps are also finished in gloss black. The Superb Sportline is available with 18-inch (standard) or 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, which look strikingly similar to the ones seen on the pre-facelift Hyundai Alcazar sold in India. It also gets Sportline badging on the front fenders and LED Matrix headlights.

Besides the changed looks, the Superb Sportline gets a retuned chassis with a 15mm drop in ride height and progressive steering as a standard feature. Dynamic Chassis Control is also available as an optional extra.

The previous-gen Superb was relaunched In India a few months back, this time being brought to the country as a CBU in limited numbers. The Superb is priced at Rs 54 lakh, making it almost Rs 8 lakh more expensive than the Toyota Camry, its only direct rival in the country.
