Renault Kiger CVT now more affordable by Rs 30,000

Renault has rejigged the equipment and variant list on the Kiger compact SUV as part of its 2025 model year update. The CVT gearbox with the turbo-petrol engine has also been made more affordable by reducing the prices of the RXT (O) trim. Prices for the MY2025 Kiger now range between Rs 6.10 lakh and Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom).

As you can see in the table above, Renault has also discontinued the RXT trim, along with the RXZ AMT and the RXZ Turbo MT variants. 

Renault Kiger 2025: what’s new?

The Kiger now gets all four power windows and central locking as standard across the range; previously, both these features were offered starting from the second-from-base RXL trim.

For an additional Rs 25,000, the RXL trim has been updated with an 8.0-inch touchscreen with wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a reverse parking camera, and steering-mounted controls, which were previously available only from the RXT trim onwards. Renault claims the Kiger RXL is now the most affordable SUV across segments to offer a touchscreen infotainment right from the factory.

However, the higher-spec RXT (O) trim now gets 16-inch flex wheels – essentially steel wheels with plastic covers designed to look like alloys; previously, the RXT(O) trim was offered with diamond-cut alloys. Lastly, the top-spec RXZ trim has been updated with a remote engine start feature.

Renault Kiger 2025 engine options and specs

Mechanically, the 2025 Kiger remains unchanged. The range comprises the 72hp/96Nm 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that’s offered with either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. There’s also the 1.0-litre, turbo-petrol engine that’s offered with 5-speed manual or CVT gearboxes, and it produces 100hp and 152Nm (160Nm with CVT).

The Kiger continues to rival the likes of the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and Skoda Kylaq but is priced a lot more aggressively than its rivals.
