The new Skoda Kodiaq is set to make its India debut at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Show in New Delhi, starting on January 17. The market launch is expected to take place in the April-June quarter of 2025.

  1. The new Kodiaq will continue with petrol engine
  2. It gets a slightly bigger cabin and more features
  3. It is likely to get multiple variants at launch

New Kodiaq being tested in India already

Skoda India has deployed a few units of the all-new Kodiaq on Indian roads for testing. There have been multiple sightings of the new Kodiaq that have hinted at some details of the upcoming SUV, such as the fact that it will be offered with at least two trim levels. The outgoing Kodiaq was introduced with three trims. However, only the top-spec L&K soldiered on till the end of its lifecycle.

New Kodiaq to continue with petrol engine

Just like the outgoing model, the new Kodiaq will be sold with the same 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine that churns out 190hp and 320Nm of torque. Gearbox duties are carried out by a 7-speed DCT automatic with a 4X4 setup.

The second-gen Kodiaq is slightly larger than the outgoing car and gets Skoda’s “Modern Solid” design language. The SUV is slightly longer in length, which liberates more interior space and additional boot capacity. Like the outgoing model, the next-gen Kodiaq is also expected to be offered with a 7-seater configuration in India.

On the inside, it will get a 13-inch infotainment screen, a fully digital instrument cluster, and the new Smart Dial setup, which includes customisable individual colour displays.

New Kodiaq India launch timeline

As mentioned above, the new Kodiaq will go on sale by June 2025. Expect a marginal price hike at launch. For reference, the outgoing Kodiaq retails at Rs 39.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India) at the moment, and some dealers still have a handful of units awaiting buyers. Key rivals to the Kodiaq include the Volkswagen Taigun, Jeep Meridian, Hyundai Tucson, MG Gloster, and Toyota Fortuner.
