Maruti Suzuki XL6 bookings open ahead of August 21 launch

Maruti Suzuki has officially started accepting bookings for its upcoming new model – the XL6, which comes with six seats. The new Maruti Suzuki XL6 will be retailed by the brand’s premium Nexa dealerships. While the price announcement for the model will take place on August 21, 2019, at New Delhi, the booking amount for the Maruti Suzuki XL6 has been fixed at Rs 11,000.

The Ertiga-based Maruti Suzuki XL6 gets a more upright nose with a flatter hood, along with a new trapezoidal grille design with dual chrome strips at the centre. It sports a chunky look upfront, with unique design elements below the LED headlights. The model will not come with a sunroof but will be fitted with roof rails. It will share its doors and tailgate with the standard Ertiga. The XL6 will be available in two variants – Zeta and Alpha – in our market.

On the inside, the XL6 will come with an all-black cabin with a six-seat layout. The second row will feature individual captain seats, which is a first for any Maruti Suzuki Nexa product. Additionally, it will come with a height-adjustable driver’s seat, a rear wash-wipe function, and the new SmartPlay Studio infotainment system. Features on the top-spec XL6 Alpha will include a reverse camera, leather seats and cruise control. Maruti Suzuki will also offer a dual-tone exterior colour scheme with black alloy wheels.

Compared to the Ertiga, the XL6 is 50mm longer (at 4,445mm), 40mm wider (at 1,775mm) and 10mm taller (at 1,700mm). However, its 2,740mm wheelbase is identical to the Ertiga's, as is the 5.2m turning radius.

Powering the XL6 will be a BS6-compliant K15B Smart Hybrid 1.5-litre petrol engine that’s good for 105hp and 138Nm of torque. The XL6 will come with the choice of a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, right from the launch.

Expect Maruti to price the XL6 around Rs 50,000 higher than the Ertiga.
