The Mahindra XUV400 EV will soon see an update to its features list. Sources tell us that the electric SUV will get a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen in the higher variants, which will replace the 7.0-inch screen.

The infotainment screen will also have wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, among other features, and it will likely be the same unit that will also feature on the upcoming XUV300 facelift. Apart from this, the XUV400 EV will not get any other features like ADAS or a 360-degree camera.

    2. Updated model will go on sale early next year
    3. Will be priced around Rs 19.5 lakh (ex-showroom)

The XUV400 EV went on sale in January this yearand since then Mahindra has been constantly updating the EV SUV with minor safety and tech upgrades. Despite all the updates, the XUV400 has been a slow-selling product for the brand with sales averaging about 500 units a month. On the other hand, the Tata Nexon EV sales have been steady at about 1,800 units a month for the last 12 months.

In order to push sales, Mahindra has even been offering attractive discounts and benefits on unsold inventory. We recently reported that the XUV400 EV is available with a whopping Rs 4.2 lakh discount on some variants.

The XUV400 EV is available in two variants – EC and EL. The EC trim comes with a 34.5kWh pack (375km of range) and a 3.2kW charger, while the EL gets a larger 39.4kWh battery (456km of claimed range) and 7.2kW charging capability. Both versions of the Mahindra XUV400 are propelled by a 150hp electric motor that drives the front wheels. Prices for the XUV400 range between Rs 15.99 lakh-19.39 lakh, ex-showroom.

Launch of the updated XUV400 EV is expected early next year and sources tell us that test drive vehicles are being readied for dealer dispatch.
