Mahindra’s next big launch will be the XUV300 facelift, which is due early next year. Ahead of its debut, the brand has been testing the updated SUV, and fresh spy shots show it undergoing high-altitude testing in Leh.

  1. XUV300 to get major styling tweaks on the outside
  2. To get More features, bigger touchscreen on the inside
  3. No mechanical changes expected

Mahindra XUV300 facelift interior updates

The latest spy shots give us a clear look at the larger touchscreen infotainment system that will see duty on the updated XUV300. While the lower variants are expected to continue with the current 7.0-inch screen, the higher trims will get an all-new touchscreen system, measuring around 10 inches, that will be shared with the upcoming Thar 5-door SUV. The screen seems to have dedicated buttons for volume control and other infotainment-related functions. The XUV300 facelift could also possibly get a full-digital instrument cluster as well, among other changes.

Mahindra XUV300 facelift exterior design

On the outside, the Mahindra BE-inspired looks are evident; the nose is clearly divided into four sections. The headlamp cluster will be vertically placed, which brings the updated XUV300 in line with the design trend seen in most other rivals and also the larger XUV700.

Like the BE SUV concepts, the XUV300 could get LED DRL as an outline either above the headlamp or vertically. The top centre section of the nose will most likely have a piano black panel with a large Mahindra “twin peaks” logo. There is an “air inlet” placed horizontally with another character line that splits the bumper into two parts with more air inlets.

The final design would have multiple elements with a matte black finish on some part of the bumper and body-coloured elements. The updated XUV300 is expected to have a closer family resemblance to the XUV700, and also the upcoming BE range, especially at the rear. It gets a completely redesigned tailgate and a full-width LED light bar could make its way here, as seen on the BE concepts. While the final tail-lamp design isn’t known yet, we expect them to be C-shaped units with LED elements.

Mahindra XUV300 facelift powertrain options

Like almost every vehicle sold in India, the XUV300 recently got a powertrain upgrade to comply with BS6 Stage II emissions norms. We don’t expect Mahindra to introduce another set of mechanical updates to the facelifted XUV300. This means it is expected to continue with the existing 110hp and 131hp, 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol units, as well as the 117hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine.

Mahindra XUV300 facelift expected launch timeline

Sources tell us that the XUV300 facelift is expected to launch sometime next year. As far as rivals go, it will continue to take on the likes of the Hyundai Venue, the recently updated Tata NexonMaruti Brezza, and the Kia Sonet (facelift due early next year).
