The Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG has been launched at a starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh, ex-showroom. The XUV 3XO CNG will take on rivals like the Maruti Brezza and Tata Nexon, which offer the choice of a factory-fitted CNG kit.

Mahindra is offering the choice of a CNG kit with the 1.2-litre MPFI (multi-point fuel injection) turbo-petrol engine. In both petrol and CNG modes, peak outputs are 111hp and 200Nm. This has been made possible by optimised turbocharger calibration and ECU mapping, as per Mahindra. The system can automatically switch to petrol mode when CNG runs low. Transmission duties are handled by a 6-speed manual unit, and the claimed mileage is 24.7km/kg.
To maximise boot space, it gets a dual CNG tank setup. Boot capacity is 270 litres, and the spare wheel is mounted under the body.
