The addition to the SX Smart trim, which is based on the SX, includes keyless entry with a push-button start/stop feature. It also comes equipped with projector headlamps, rear parking camera, leatherette seat upholstery, and a shark fin antenna.

New optional equipment

On both these trims, customers can opt for a larger 9.0-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a rear camera for Rs 14,999. These are genuine Hyundai accessories, on which the company is providing a 3-year warranty. As standard, all variants of the Exter only get an 8.0-inch. Hyundai has also made ISOFIX anchor points standard on the Exter.

The Exter is powered by an 83hp, 114Nm 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that’s offered with both the 5-speed manual and the 5-speed AMT gearboxes. In the CNG spec, this engine produces 69hp and 95.2Nm of torque, and is only offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox. It also gets Hyundai’s new dual-CNG cylinder tank setup.
