Citroen eC3 facelift teased

Citroen has teased the eC3 facelift ahead of its launch in India. It has been nearly a year since the launch of the updated C3, and the French automaker will now carry out a similar makeover for the eC3. The upcoming Citroen eC3 facelift will come with minor styling tweaks and an updated feature set, though no mechanical changes are expected. The electric version will also get the ‘X’ suffix like its internal combustion-engine (ICE) counterpart.

  1. Facelift to get LED headlamps, LED fog lamps and updated bumpers
  2. Interior fit & finish likely to improve
  3. Could get a 7-inch gauge cluster, 6 airbags and 360-degree camera

Citroen eC3 facelift exterior

Changes on the outside over the current model are to be minor

The Citroen eC3 facelift’s exterior will be mostly similar in design to the updated C3. The facelift, therefore, is likely to get projector LED headlamps and front LED fog lamps. Other exterior changes expected over the pre-facelift model include refreshed bumpers and wheels, and perhaps new colour options with single-tone and dual-tone options as well. Since this is expected to be a minor facelift, the dimensions of the eC3 will remain unchanged.

Citroen eC3 facelift interior and features

Most of the updates are expected in the cabin of the eC3 facelift

Citroen could equip the eC3 facelift with the 7-inch digital driver’s display from the updated C3. Higher variants of the eC3 facelift could also get other features like a 360-degree camera system, an auto-dimming inner rearview mirror (IRVM) and six airbags. Like on the outside, design revisions inside the eC3 facelift are not expected to be significant. This could mean that the funky-looking AC vents and dimpled pattern on the dashboard are likely to be carried forward.

The small toggle switch to select the drive direction, fabric-upholstered seats and the 10.2-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto are also expected to be retained. The updated C3 came with improved interior fit & finish over its predecessor; the eC3 facelift could get a similar treatment.

Citroen eC3 facelift powertrain

The update is expected to carry forward the pre-facelift’s battery-motor specs

The Citroen eC3 facelift is not expected with any major mechanical changes. Therefore, it is likely to come with the same 29.2kWh lithium-ion battery pack and a single electric motor as the pre-facelift model. This front-mounted motor produces 57hp and 143Nm of torque, pushing the eC3 to a top speed of 107kph. The EV currently comes with a 3.3kW AC charger and has a claimed range of 246km.

Citroen eC3 facelift expected price

The pre-facelift eC3 comes in four trim levels and are priced from Rs 11.99 lakh to Rs 13.26 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon its launch sometime later this year, the Citroen eC3 facelift will rival the Tata Tiago EV and MG Comet.
