Citroen eC3X FAQs

One of the first changes Citroen made when it updated this EV for the 2026 model year is to add an ‘X’ suffix to its name. The exterior of the eC3X gets new LED projector headlamps and revised 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. On the inside, the eC3X features powered outer rearview mirrors (ORVMs), a 7-inch coloured digital driver’s display and a dual-tone blue-and-beige cabin theme with leatherette upholstery. The 2026 update also brings with it 6 airbags for the top-spec variant.

The Citroen eC3X is for buyers who want a relatively affordable EV but with an SUV-inspired design in a compact package.

While we’re yet to review the 2026 model, the changes made here are minor and the eC3X is likely to be comparable to the eC3l. With a wheelbase that’s longer than that of a Maruti Brezza, there’s no shortage of legroom in the Citroen eC3X’s cabin. Those seated in the back have space provided under the front seats to tuck their legs under, but the underfloor-mounted battery pack means that one would have to sit in a knees-up position. Some of the eC3X’s comfort-oriented features are the lack of audible electric motor whine, along with good bump absorption and a pliant ride.

Despite being updated for 2026 and costing more than the Tata Tiago EV, the feature set offered by the Citroen eC3X feels lacklustre. It not only lacks amenities such as automatic climate control with rear AC vents, surround-view cameras with blind-spot monitoring, a 65W USB charging port, and a cooled glovebox. The eC3X also does not get six airbags as standard across all trims, which the Tiago EV does.

For those who do frequent airport runs or weekend getaways, the Citroen eC3X’s boot will be more accommodating. Not only is it 75 litres larger than that of the Tata Tiago EV, it also makes storing taller items easier.

Yes, the claimed range of the Citroen eC3X is 40km higher than that offered by the Tata Tiago EV with the larger 24kWh battery pack.

The Citroen eC3X’s battery pack can be DC fast-charged from 10-80 percent in a claimed 57 minutes, with the Tata Tiago EV being 22 minutes faster to achieve the same.

Unless you really want the slightly higher range, boot space and interior space that the Citroen eC3X offers over the Tata Tiago EV, its higher asking price does not feel value for money. By spending Rs 3.26 lakh less, you can instead go for the top-spec variant of the Tata Tiago EV.
