Lovato CNG kit for Citroen C3
Citroen India dealerships have tied up with Lovato to supply and install the CNG kits in the C3 hatchback. The single-cylinder CNG kit has a water-equivalent capacity of 55 litres, and the brand says one could go 170-200km on a full tank. Citroen has confirmed the CNG kit is only available with the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine, which develops 82hp and 115Nm when running on petrol. While the French brand has yet to reveal the output figures when on CNG, it claims an MOPAR-validated (internal testing) fuel economy of 28.1km/kg. A 5-speed manual gearbox is standard. Citroen also claims that the rear suspension has been upgraded to ensure ride quality remains unchanged from the standard petrol model.

Citroen says the C3 CNG is available in four variants – Live, Feel, Feel(O) and Shine, with prices ranging from Rs 7.16 lakh to Rs 9.24 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The brand offers the same 3-year/1 lakh km warranty on the CNG components as it does on the C3.
Compared to other CNG-powered tall-boy hatchbacks like the Maruti Wagon R, the C3 CNG is priced higher. However, the Citroen undercuts sub-compact SUVs like the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter.
