The Jeep Compass – launched in India back in 2017 – is now facing serious competition from the likes of the MG Hector, Tata Harrier and a few other SUVs. In addition, the current economic slowdown is not helping matters much either. In order to combat this, Jeep India dealers are now offering multiple discounts and benefits on most Jeep Compass variants.

The entry-level Jeep Compass Sport diesel 4X2 MT gets a cash discount of around Rs 1 lakh. This variant comes with features like 16-inch steel wheels, a 5.0-inch infotainment screen and dual front airbags to name a few. Buyers can avail discounts of around 50,000 for the petrol-engine version of the same variant.

The diesel 4X2 MT versions of the Jeep Compass Longitude, Longitude (O), Limited and Limited (O) get discounts to the tune of Rs 1.2 lakh. Additionally, the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol Jeep Compass Longitude (O), Limited and Limited (O) come with cash discounts of around Rs 65,000 as well.

The top-spec Limited Plus variants of the Compass – in both petrol and diesel guise – are available with discounts and benefits of around Rs 80,000, while the recently launched off-road-spec Compass Trailhawk, which is available with a 9-speed automatic – is on offer with benefits of around Rs 30,000 at some locations. The Jeep Compass Sport Plus, however, does not get any discounts as of now.

The Compass is powered by three engine options currently – a BS4-compliant 2.0-litre diesel good for 173hp and 350Nm of torque (with a 6-speed manual only, a BS6-compliant 2.0-litre diesel that makes 173hp and 350Nm (it comes with a 9-speed automatic only), and a BS4-compliant 1.4-litre turbo-petrol motor that is tuned to produce 163hp and 250Nm of torque that has 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox options.

The Jeep Compass range in India starts at Rs 15.60 lakh* for the base petrol Sport variant and goes all the way up to Rs 23.11 lakh* for the Compass Limited Plus; the Compass Trailhawk was launched at Rs 26.8 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

In the coming months, Jeep India will add the 9-speed automatic variant to the standard Compass line-up. Click here to read more on that

*Prices are ex-showroom, Delhi
