On the exterior, the Jeep Compass facelift gets tweaked headlights with integrated LED DRLs, honeycomb-like inserts on the seven-slat chrome front grille and a new front bumper with a large air dam that runs from end-to-end and houses the fog lamps. The SUV also gets new design alloy wheels and a tweaked faux front skid plate. However, there are no noticeable changes to the side and rear of the SUV, with the Compass continuing to feature roof rails, LED taillights and a faux rear skid plate.

As was seen in the teaser images, the Jeep Compass facelift gets a completely revamped interior. A floating 10.1-inch touchscreen takes centre stage, below which are the new, slim AC vents and HVAC controls. The new touchscreen will come with FCA’s UConnect 5 infotainment system and is likely to feature integrated Amazon Alexa support, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, and can also receive over-the-air updates. The Compass facelift’s dashboard features double-stitched leather inserts and brushed aluminium-like trim, which ups the SUV’s premium factor. The Compass facelift also gets a new three-spoke steering wheel and a large, full-digital instrument cluster. Of other things, the Compass facelift retains the light-grey leather seats and panoramic sunroof of the pre-facelift model.

    Jeep Compass Trailhawk facelift

Jeep has also facelifted the off-road focused Trailhawk version of the Compass. The Jeep Compass Trailhawk facelift gets a new front bumper, a blacked-out version of the Compass’ new honeycomb-like grille, black and red decals on the bonnet, red tow hooks front and back and Trailhawk badges on the front fender and tailgate. The Compass Trailhawk facelift also features a different design for the alloy wheels.

    Jeep Compass facelift India plans

The Jeep Compass facelift is expected to launch in India only in 2021. However, production of the model is expected to start later this year, as Jeep Compass’ for all right-hand-drive markets in the world are produced at FCA’s Ranjangaon facility in Maharashtra.

Though there are new engines available overseas, the Compass facelift in India will continue to be powered by the same 173hp, 2.0-litre diesel and 163hp, 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engines as the outgoing model. Both engines come with a 6-speed manual as standard, with the petrol getting the option of a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and the diesel getting a 9-speed torque converter. The Jeep Compass facelift will compete with the Hyundai Tucson and the Skoda Karoq in India.
