Nissan Tekton vs Renault Duster claimed fuel-efficiency (kpl) | ||
| SUV | Tekton | Duster |
| 100hp 1L turbo-petrol MT | 19.4 | 19.41 |
| 163hp 1.3L turbo-petrol MT | 17.8 | 17.75 |
| 163hp 1.3L turbo-petrol DCT | 18.5 | 18.45 |
The Tekton shares its powertrains with the Renault Duster. The entry-level 1.0-litre three-cylinder mill generates 100hp and 166Nm of torque, and comes paired only with a 6-speed manual gearbox as of now. Meanwhile, the 1.3-litre three-cylinder motor develops much higher outputs of 163hp and 280Nm, and can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic. Since the powertrains are shared between the two SUVs, even their claimed fuel-efficiency figures are similar.
With a claimed fuel efficiency of 19.41kpl, the Tekton's 1-litre turbo-petrol engine comes close to the VW Taigun 1.0 TSI MT (19.98kpl) and the Skoda Kushaq 1.0 TSI MT (19.66kpl). Meanwhile, the 1.3-litre turbo-petrol with the automatic gearbox returns a claimed 18.5kpl, putting it ahead of the Tata Sierra 1.5-litre turbo-petrol AT (15.3kpl) and the Kia Seltos 1.5-litre turbo-petrol DCT (17.5kpl).
