The Fronx was part of the top 10 UVs list every year since launch, ranking 7th in FY2024, 5th in FY2025, and 7th in FY2026. How the Fronx compares to other Maruti Suzuki Nexa models
Second highest-selling Nexa model in FY2026
In FY2026, the Fronx (1,72,363 units) was Nexa’s second highest-selling model – just 197 units behind the Baleno (1,72,560 units). However, after the first two months of FY2027, the Fronx is the bestselling Nexa model, pulling ahead of both the Baleno (36,702 units) and the Grand Vitara (17,084 units). As mentioned previously, the Fronx ranks in pole position in terms of cumulative Nexa UV sales, followed by the Grand Vitara, XL6, the now-discontinued S-Cross, Jimny, Invicto and e Vitara.
While the Grand Vitara, which was launched six months before the Fronx, was the first to hit the 2,00,000 milestone, the smaller SUV overtook it on the way to the 3,00,000 milestone. Fiscal-year-wise, the Fronx outsold the Grand Vitara by 13,566 units in FY2024, 42,570 units in FY2025, and 88,514 units in FY2026. In the April-May 2026 period, the Fronx was ahead of the Grand Vitara by over 22,000 units.
The Fronx also shines on the export front. Over 1,75,000 units have been exported, and in FY2026, it was the top made-in-India export model (90,186 units), accounting for 20 percent of Maruti’s record exports of 4,43,825 passenger vehicles and 10 percent of total passenger vehicle exports of 9,05,200 units.
Fronx topped Maruti Suzuki’s SUV sales charts in May 2026
20,868 Fronx units sold last month
In May 2026, Maruti’s passenger vehicle wholesales rose a record-breaking 40 percent YoY to 1,90,337 units, and UV dispatches also hit a record monthly high of 79,267 units – up 44 percent YoY. At 20,686 units sold, the Fronx was Maruti’s bestselling SUV and its second bestselling model overall last month, slotting below the Wagon R. May 2026 (20,686 units) also marked the third instance of the Fronx crossing 20,000 monthly sales after February 2025 (21,461 units) and December 2025 (20,706 units).
The success of the Fronx is largely thanks to its stylish coupe SUV design, decently equipped interiors, fuel-efficient petrol and CNG engines (including a sportier 1.0-litre turbo option) with manual and automatic transmissions, and compelling pricing. It’s sold in five trims, namely Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta, and Alpha, with prices starting at Rs 6.85 lakh and topping off at Rs 11.98 lakh (ex-showroom).
