The Hyundai Creta facelift for the Indonesian has just been unveiled at the GIIAS 2021 motor show. The Korean carmaker had officially teased it a few weeks back, with the refreshed SUV being leaked in its entirety earlier this week.

Hyundai Creta facelift: exterior design
In terms of styling, the Indonesia-spec Creta features a heavily reworked front-end, that is reminiscent of the new Tucson. This translates to the new Creta sporting Hyundai’s new 'parametric grille' that stretches across the entire width of the car and neatly incorporates the LED Daytime Running Lamps (DRL). The DRLs have a unique design that make it look like they are a part of the grille when turned off. Besides this, the headlights are positioned slightly lower on the bumper and are more rectangular than the outgoing model. Hyundai has updated the rear of the Creta as well, with new and sharper looking tail-lights and a re-profiled boot lid that look like the Russian Creta.
Hyundai Creta facelift: interiors
Updates to the interior are more subtle, as the design and layout of the dashboard has been carried over from the pre-facelift model. Hyundai has instead bolstered the features list, with it now including a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster (like the one seen in the Alcazar), a premium 8-speaker Bose sound system, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support (smaller than the 10.25-inch unit offered on the Indian model), a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, cooled glove box, ambient lighting and an air purifier.
Hyundai Creta facelift: new safety features
The highlight of the updated features list is definitely the Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS) that add safety features like lane keep assist, blind spot monitor, adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist and autonomous emergency braking with forward collision avoidance on the top trim. These features are expected to make it to the Indian model as well, given that other midsize SUVs like the MG Astor already offer it.
Another addition on the safety front is the updated BlueLink connected car tech, that brings with it new safety features like stolen vehicle tracking, stolen vehicle immobilisation and a valet parking mode, all of which will be accessible via your phone.
Hyundai Creta facelift: powertrain
The Indonesian model is powered by a sole 115hp, 144Nm, 1.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine, that can be had with either a 6-speed manual or CVT automatic gearbox option. In that market, unlike in India, Hyundai deosn’t provide the Creta with either the diesel or turbo-petrol engine options.
Hyundai Creta facelift: expected India launch
While the second-gen Hyundai Creta was only introduced here last year, Hyundai is expected to launch the updated Creta in the latter half of next year. The India-spec Creta facelift will likely carry most of the design and feature changes seen on this Indonesian model.
