Hyundai is offering sizeable discounts on its range of hatchbacks and sedans in August. After experiencing shrinking demand earlier this year, carmakers finally seem to be on the slow path to recovery. Passenger vehicle sales have started picking up, with the Hyundai’s July 2020 numbers closing just 2 percent shy of July 2019. Read on to know how much you could save on a Hyundai purchase this month.

  • All Hyundai hatchbacks and sedans, except the Verna, get attractive deals.
  • Special benefits not available on Hyundai SUVs.

Hyundai Grand i10

Save up to Rs 60,000

The Grand i10 was launched in 2013, with a facelift in 2017 that is still on sale today, and Hyundai has been tinkering with its features list over the years to keep it competitive. Following the arrival of the Nios, the Hyundai Grand i10 is being offered with only its 1.2-litre petrol engine, mated to a manual transmission, in two mid-spec variants priced at Rs 5.90-6.00 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Benefits of up to Rs 60,000 available this month make the hatch a compelling buy.

Hyundai Santro

Save up to Rs 45,000

As Hyundai’s entry-level offering in India, the Santro goes up against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki WagonR and Tata Tiago in our market. It gets a 1.1-litre petrol engine with either a manual or an AMT auto gearbox option. Those aiming for a more frugal running also get the choice of CNG. Priced at Rs 4.57-6.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Hyundai Santro is being offered with savings of up to Rs 45,000.

Hyundai Elite i20

Save up to Rs 35,000

The current-gen Hyundai i20 is at the fag end of its life cycle, and has been upgraded to BS6 in only its petrol-manual form, with an 83hp, 1.2-litre engine. The variant line-up has also been trimmed down to just three trims, with prices ranging from Rs 6.50-8.31 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). With the new Hyundai i20 already in the pipeline for an India launch in the coming months, dealers are offering the existing model with benefits worth Rs 35,000 in August.

Hyundai Elantra

Save up to Rs 30,000

When Hyundai introduced a facelift for the current-gen Elantra late last year, the updated model was launched with just a 2.0-litre petrol engine. The company has, since then, also introduced a 1.5-litre diesel to the line-up. Carrying a sticker price of Rs 17.60-20.65 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the executive sedan is being offered with benefits of up to Rs 30,000 this month.

For now, the Elantra has just the Honda Civic to compete with in our market, till the next-gen Skoda Octavia is launched in 2021. Hyundai has already taken the wraps off the seventh-gen Elantra for international markets, but the model is expected to make it to India only sometime next year.

Hyundai Grand i10 Nios

Save up to Rs 25,000

Technically the successor to the Grand i10, the Nios is positioned slightly above it as both are on sale together. The Grand i10 Nios sports a larger footprint, Hyundai’s latest design language and loads of features. It gets multiple powertrain options, with a set of 1.2-litre petrol and diesel engines mated to manual as well as AMT automatic transmissions. There is also a CNG version on offer, and don’t forget the 100hp iteration of the Venue’s 1.0-litre turbo-petrol motor. Key rivals include the Maruti Suzuki Swift and Ford Figo. Discounts of up to Rs 25,000 are available on the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, which is priced at Rs 5.07-8.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Hyundai Aura

Save up to Rs 20,000

The Hyundai Aura is the Korean automaker’s latest take on the sub-four-metre sedan and the company’s answer to growing competition in the segment that includes the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze, Tata Tigor and Ford Aspire.  The Aura packs in a powertrain line-up similar to the Nios. Prospective buyers of Hyundai’s compact sedan, which carries a sticker price of Rs 5.80-9.23 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), can save up to Rs 20,000 this month.
