Suzuki Burgman Street
The Suzuki Burgman Street 125 is a premium maxi-style scooter powered by a 124cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 8.31hp and 10.2Nm of torque. It gets an automatic CVT transmission, telescopic front suspension and a front disc brake. Its features include a 24.6-litre underseat storage compartment, a USB charging port and Bluetooth connectivity. The top-spec Ride Connect TFT Edition adds a 4.2-inch colour TFT display and keyless ignition, while the standard Ride Connect Edition uses an LCD instrument console.
In Autocar India's review of the updated Burgman Street, the scooter impressed with its smooth and refined engine, fuel efficiency and practical storage space. Its relaxed riding position and long seat make it suitable for everyday commuting, while the larger rear wheel and revised suspension improve its composure over bigger bumps. However, the ride can feel firm over smaller road imperfections, and the scooter feels less nimble than some lighter rivals. The lack of ABS is also a notable omission.

Suzuki Burgman Street Expert Review
9.0
The 2026 Suzuki Burgman Street receives its most comprehensive update since launch, retaining its maxi-scooter styling while adopting the latest Access-derived platform. The design changes are subtle but effective, with revised bodywork, updated lighting elements and a more premium overall appearance. Practicality remains a key strength, with a spacious riding position, large floorboard and generous under-seat storage. Depending on the variant, buyers also get a TFT display, Bluetooth connectivity and a key fob system, giving the Burgman a more upmarket feel than most 125cc scooters.
9.0
Power comes from Suzuki's familiar 124cc single-cylinder engine paired with a CVT transmission. The motor delivers smooth and refined performance, making it well suited to city commuting. Throttle response is predictable and the engine remains stress free at urban speeds. One of the Burgman's biggest strengths is fuel efficiency. Autocar India's testing found that it can be extremely economical when ridden gently, making it an appealing option for riders looking to keep running costs low.
8.0
The new platform has improved the Burgman's overall riding experience. It continues to prioritise comfort, with a relaxed seating position and excellent ergonomics for daily commuting. The suspension setup is tuned towards comfort and absorbs urban road imperfections well. Despite its larger dimensions, the scooter remains easy to manoeuvre in traffic, although it does not feel quite as nimble as some lighter rivals. The Burgman's focus remains on comfort and ease of use rather than outright sporty handling.

As per ARAI, the Suzuki Burgman Street 125 mileage is around 58.5kpl. In Autocar India's tests, the scooter returned 50.1kpl in the city and 56.6kpl on the highway. Its 5.5-litre fuel tank offers a theoretical range of around 322km at the claimed mileage, although actual range will depend on traffic, riding conditions and fuel consumption.
Both variants use the same 124cc engine and automatic CVT transmission, so fuel efficiency depends more on riding style than on the variant chosen. Autocar India's road test found that the engine remains smooth and refined at city speeds and can deliver over 53kpl when ridden gently. Frequent acceleration, heavy traffic and sustained high speeds can increase fuel consumption.

Questions you may find useful
With the New Burgman street, is it worth going for the top-end dual-tone TFT model over the base model with the LCD screen?
In terms of real-world functionality, the LCD screen on the base variant of the Suzuki Burgman Street can do pretty much everything the higher variant's colour TFT screen can do. In typical Japanese fashion, both displays are well laid out with all the pertinent information, but aren't cluttered. The only situation where the TFT dash will have a leg up over the LCD screen is in the fact that it will be easier to read when the sun is directly overhead. But the screens aren't the only area of difference. The top variant of the Burgman also comes with a nifty keyless ignition system, which comes in handy on a day-to-day basis. For the small difference in asking price, these feel-good features more than make up for it in the long run, and we'd recommend you stretch for them if you can. On the flip side, the lower variant has the same mechanicals, colours and styling, so if you are on a strict budget and have no need for these frills, saving some money and buying the base model is also a good idea. It entirely depends on what sort of experience you're after.
I am planning to buy a new Burgman Street scooter, but I have heard that a major facelift is coming. Could you help with the expected launch timeline? This would help me decide whether I should buy now or wait.
2024 saw a big change for the Suzuki Access in terms of its chassis, engine internals and features, and it's no secret that the company will be trickling these improvements to its other scooters, the Avenis and the Burgman Street duo, in the foreseeable future. However, there's no confirmation on when these updated Suzuki scooters will launch, so if you are thinking of buying a Burgman Street, you should wait until it launches. Alternatively, you could go ahead and buy the Access, which is a sorted scooter, is less expensive to purchase compared to the Burgman and was also recently updated with single-channel ABS, making it a good purchase.
