Royal Enfield Classic 350 Mileage
Autocar India's own fuel efficiency testing on the Royal Enfield Classic 350 returned 32.7kpl in city conditions and 36.8kpl on the highway, figures that reflect the 349cc engine's relaxed, torque-led character.
User-reported mileage data from owners averages 35.03kpl, sitting between the two test figures.
13-litre fuel tank, of which 2.6 litres is reserve, covers more than 410km between fills per Autocar India's FAQ coverage.
The 5-speed manual gearbox and the engine's unhurried delivery both play into this real-world efficiency, since the motorcycle is happiest at a relaxed cruising pace rather than being worked hard toward its 115kph top speed.

Questions you may find useful
I’m a 40-year-old, 6-feet-tall rider. My daily office commute is 60km, and I occasionally go on long rides of up to 500km. I’m planning to upgrade my bike but am confused between the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and the Honda H’ness CB350. Please suggest a bike with better suspension, service network, and mileage. My budget is around ₹2.5 lakh.
Both the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Honda H’ness CB350 have comfortable suspension setups and are quite similar in terms of fuel efficiency. Choosing between Royal Enfield and Honda ultimately comes down to your personal preference and proximity to a service centre. Our pick would be the Royal Enfield Classic 350 because it has a more soulful riding experience. But before making a final decision, take a long test ride to see which one suits you best.
Hi, I’m 47 years old, 6 ft tall, and my son is 21 years old, 6’3″ tall. I’m looking to buy a Royal Enfield Classic 350, but my son is interested in the Classic 650. My main concern is mileage, as we’ll do more than 95% city driving. Could you please suggest which bike suits us better?
Since almost all of your usage is going to be in the city, going for the Royal Enfield Classic 650 doesn't make sense because its rear suspension is quite stiff, and in traffic, its 243kg kerb weight will be a task to deal with, especially considering the way the engine will splay your legs out. You are right to worry about fuel efficiency because the 648cc twin is not very fuel efficient at slow city speeds, especially considering the bike's 243kg kerb weight. The Classic 350 is a lovely bike to use inside the city with its upright ergonomics, plush suspension and torquey, soulful engine. The Goan Classic is also something you can take a look at if you like its custom bike look, although it does trade off a little bit of practicality and comfort to the Classic.
Hello Autocar team, I am from Pune, and my father is looking for a bike for his daily office commute of around 50km (25km one way). His requirements are a comfortable seating position, decent fuel efficiency, good after-sales service and long-term reliability, and a low seat height, as he is 5 ft 5 in tall. He was initially considering the TVS Ronin base variant, but after reading about some after-sales issues, he is looking at other options as well. Since we already have a Hunter 350, he is considering the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and Honda CB350RS. However, he is confused between the two, as the Meteor 350 is around 10kg heavier than the Hunter 350, while the CB350RS has a taller seat height. Could you please suggest which would be the better choice considering his usage and requirements? He is also considering an EV scooter, so suggestions for suitable options in that category would be helpful as well.
While the Royal Enfield Meteor 350's low seat height is surely welcoming, owing to its feet-forward riding position, you will feel more of the road imperfections you encounter. We'd recommend you instead look at the Bullet / Classic from RE's stable, as these bikes have more upright, natural riding triangles which will be useful over the long daily commute your father faces. The Honda CB350s offer a similar riding experience but are lighter and easier to manage. Given that your daily commute is quite long and likely to involve bad patches too, a motorcycle would be the more comfortable alternative to a scooter. However, if you must have an electric scooter, choose from proven options like the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Ather Rizta / Konarc and Vida VX2.
I'm a beginner looking for a 350cc motorcycle. Is the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 a good choice, or should I consider a Jawa? I'm looking for a bike with good mileage, low maintenance, comfortable highway performance, strong resale value, and attractive styling. Also, is the Bullet too heavy?
Your concerns about the Royal Enfield Bullet 350's weight are justified, to an extent. Yes, at 195kg, you will feel every ounce when moving it around in the parking lot or at slower city speeds, but once you get moving, the weight fades into the background and doesn't pose a hindrance. The Bullet / Classic 350 have a soulful, slow-revving thumper which works well when you ride in a relaxed and unhurried fashion. Royal Enfield bikes also have a good reputation for resale value, especially when it comes to the popular 350s. If instead you want a different experience, look at the 350cc Triumph Speed T4. The T4 is much lighter and has better performance as well as handling. It also comes from a reputable brand and should realistically not throw any unwelcome surprises into your ownership experience.
Which is the best bike in the 350-400cc segment if I'm looking for mileage, comfort, low maintenance, and long-term ownership? I ride around 500km every week.
For your use case, we would recommend looking at the Honda CB350 models, Royal Enfield Bullet/Classic 350, and Triumph Speed T4. All of these 350cc machines set a high bar for comfort, but the Bullet and Classic will definitely have a small edge here. When it comes to fuel economy, the CB350s and Speed T4 will likely be more efficient than the heavier Royal Enfield bikes, although mileage varies greatly depending on a multitude of factors. Finally, when it comes to long-term peaceful ownership, it's likely that the Hondas will be the easiest to live with, although maintenance costs for all three will be pretty comparable. These three options are also very different in terms of their riding experience, and to accurately gauge which one will be best for you, we'd recommend a test ride of all before you make your decision.

Royal Enfield Classic 350 FAQs
As tested by the Autocar team, Royal Enfield Classic 350 delivered a mileage of around 32.7kpl. Exact mileage depends on city traffic, condition of roads and weather.
If you want to get better city mileage from your Royal Enfield Classic 350, try to accelerate the bike gently instead of twisting the throttle aggressively, shift to higher gears at the right time, and avoid unnecessary hard braking. Make sure you are getting your bike serviced on schedule. Along with that, maintain recommended tyre pressure, and keep the chain clean and properly lubricated so that the engine runs more efficiently. At a long traffic signal, switch off the engine instead of letting it idle. This will save fuel too.
Every Royal Enfield Classic 350 variant is powered by the same 349cc, single-cylinder engine and share the same gearbox, so their fuel efficiency remains largely similar. However, the actual mileage you get depends more on factors such as your riding style, traffic conditions, road surface, bike maintenance, and tyre pressure than on the variant you choose.
