TVS RTX 300 launch imminent

TVS’ much awaited adventure tourer – the RTX 300 is expected to launch in a month or two. It will be the first bike to be powered by the new RT-XD4 engine, and here’s a roundup of everything we know so far.

  1. TVS RTX 300 features a 19/17-inch (F/R) alloy wheel setup
  2. A ride-by-wire throttle could enable features like rider modes, traction control and a quickshifter
  3. Expected to slot between the KTM 250 Adventure and Royal Enfield Himalayan 450

TVS RTX 300 will debut the RT XD4 engine

The RT XD4 engine produces 35hp and 28.5Nm.

The RTX 300 was first spied last year, shortly after the brand announced an all-new 300cc RT-XD4 engine at the 2024 edition of MotoSoul. Later, undisguised images of this bike's pre-production model leaked from the Auto Expo 2025. Since then, its design has been patented and now, its launch timeline seems closer than ever.

The RTX 300 will be the first motorcycle out of TVS’ stable to be powered by the all-new RT-XD4 300cc engine. TVS’ latest engine displaces 299c and is both liquid-cooled (for the head) and air/oil-cooled (for the crank cases). This new engine is rated for 35hp at 9,000rpm and 28.5Nm at 7,000rpm, and it will come mated to a six-speed gearbox.

TVS’ upcoming adventure bike seems to have its sights set on long-distance touring, rather than a focus on off-roading. Patent filings and spy shots confirm the use of road-biased 19/17-inch (F/R) alloy wheels.

TVS RTX 300 Chassis and design

It will draw inspiration from larger European ADV tourers.

The chassis comprises a trellis frame paired with a bolt-on rear subframe, suspended by a USD fork and a monoshock at the rear. The fork appears to offer a fair amount of travel.

Visually, the bike appears to borrow cues from larger European ADV tourers, and the tail-light section, in particular, bears a striking resemblance to the Triumph Tiger 900.

Expect a generous suite of electronics, including a TFT dash, with features like a quickshifter, traction control and multiple rider modes likely to be offered thanks to the presence of a ride-by-wire throttle.

TVS’ upcoming adventure bike is likely to rival the KTM 250 Adventure at the entry level and stretch up to compete with the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, with pricing expected to fall somewhere in between.
