The BMW M440i Convertible has been launched in India as the manufacturer's second drop-top offering after the Z4 Roadster. It is powered by a 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 374hp and 500Nm. It has a claimed 0-100kph time of 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 250kph. It borrows a lot of exterior design elements from the 4 Series Coupe, including the sleek LED headlights with LED DRLs, the 'beaver teeth' grille and the wraparound LED taillights. Inside, the four-seater M440i Convertible looks similar to the M340i with a simple dashboard design including dual-digital screens and a 3-spoke steering wheel. It rivals the Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet in India.
