Tata Motors has introduced a mid-lifecycle update for the Tiago EV, the entry point to the carmaker's zero-emission lineup. The facelift brings comprehensive updates to the exterior and interior, while the two battery pack options remain unchanged. With the variant lineup now spread across Smart, Pure+ and Creative+, along with different prices and features, the question is simple: which one makes the most sense as a practical buy? We find out.

*Non-battery rental prices, as of May 28, 2026.
With this year's update, Tata has revised the electric Tiago's variant nomenclature from the erstwhile XE 19.2kWh, XT 19.2kWh/ 24kWh and XZ+ Texh 24kWh, but the variant-wise battery pack choices remain the same. Compared to before, prices are down by Rs 1 lakh for the base variant, up to Rs 65,000 for the mid-spec version and Rs 1.15 lakh for the top trim.
To make the EV more accessible, the carmaker has introduced a battery-as-a-service (BaaS) option. The Tiago EV Smart BaaS price is Rs 4.69 lakh, and Rs 2.6 is charged additionally for each km driven. Battery rental prices for other variants are yet to be announced.
2026 Tata Tiago EV facelift range, battery and motor specs
As before, a 61hp/ 110Nm electric motor is paired with the smaller battery pack, while the larger unit works with a 75hp/ 114Nm motor. Interestingly, the smaller battery pack's ARAI-certified range of 226km is up by 3km, while the larger battery pack returns 8km less on a single charge, now at 285km. As per Tata's C75 real-world range driving tests, the 19.2kWh and 24kWh battery packs are estimated to offer single charge ranges of 160km-170km and 205km-215km, respectively. Charging times have been improved as well, especially from 10 to 80 percent on a DC unit, which earlier took 58 minutes.
2026 Tata Tiago EV facelift colour options

A total of six colours are on offer with the Tata Tiago EV, four out of which are new ones. Pristine White and Daytona Grey have been carried over, while fresh additions include Dehradun Dew, Sobo Surge, Pangong Pulse and Pure Grey. Which Tata Tiago EV facelift variant should you buy?
Between the three variants of the Tata Tiago EV facelift, our pick is the Creative+. Not only is the top-spec variant more affordable than before at Rs 9.99 lakh, but it's also equipped with several useful features such as a 360-degree camera, blind spot monitor, cruise control, hill hold control and rear AC vents. More importantly, the additional Rs 50,000 over the Rs 9.49 lakh Pure+ 24kWh variant feels justified considering the long list of additional features on offer. Tata's new battery rental scheme can also help lower the upfront purchase cost further.
The 24kWh battery pack also offers a warranty of 15 years from the first date of registration to the first owner, with unlimited kilometres covered. For second and later owners, the standard warranty is 8 years or 1,60,000km, whichever comes first.
