What is the difference between TVS Apache RTR 160 and Apache RTR 160 4V?

The main difference between the Apache RTR 160 and RTR 160 4V lies in their engine configurations and features. The Apache RTR 160 uses a 159.7cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine with two valves, producing 16hp at 8,750rpm and 13.85Nm at 7,000rpm.

The Apache RTR 160 4V, on the other hand, while displacing an identical 159.7cc, employs oil cooling and features a 4-valve configuration, delivering higher peak output figures of 17.6hp at 9,250rpm and 14.7Nm at 7,500rpm.

The RTR 160 4V also offers more advanced features like a projector headlamp, a 5-inch TFT display, traction control and USD front forks on higher variants.

What is the fuel efficiency of the TVS Apache RTR 160?

During our tests, the TVS Apache RTR 160 returned 53.1kpl in the city when ridden in the lower-power Urban mode, while highway efficiency in Sport mode stood at 46.44kpl.

However, its compact riding position and firm suspension mean it’s not an ideal choice for extended touring, especially on less-than-ideal roads. For these reasons, it’s best enjoyed as a daily commuter rather than a long-distance tourer.

What is the price of the TVS Apache RTR 160?

The TVS Apache RTR 160 range currently includes five standard variants, with prices starting at Rs 1.11 lakh and going up to Rs 1.23 lakh for the dual-channel ABS model (ex-showroom, Delhi). Recently, TVS also launched a 20th Anniversary Edition of the Apache RTR 160, featuring a predominantly black colour scheme with metallic rose-gold highlights and a USB charger. Positioned above the standard variants at Rs 1.27 lakh, this edition is a limited-run model.
