Hero MotoCorp has recently introduced a new Combat variant on the Xtreme 250R, the flagship sport-naked motorcycle in the brand’s portfolio. Now the motorcycle is available in two variants, if you are planning to buy one, here’s what to know.

Both variants retain the 250cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, which produces 30hp at 9,250rpm and 25.3Nm of torque at 7,500rpm, the latter shows a 0.3Nm bump, and delivered  250rpm higher in the rev band. Retained from the previous model also include the steel trellis frame, the box-section swingarm, the 43mm USD fork, all-LED lighting and the dual-channel ABS. Braking hardware also remains unchanged, a 320mm disc at the front and a 230mm disc at the rear.

Hero Xtreme 250R: Variant breakdown

Standard

The Standard variant has received a Rs 11,000 price hike, raising its cost from Rs 1.73 lakh to Rs 1.84 lakh. This variant remains unchanged from before. It retains the mechanical throttle body, reverse LCD instrument cluster with bluetooth connectivity and dual-channel ABS with two modes. It is offered in three colours: Firestorm Red, Neon Shooting Star and Stealth Black.

Carbon

At Rs 1.98 lakh, the new Carbon variant costs Rs 14,000 extra but brings a significant addition of electronics and rider aids. The electronics suite comprises a 4.2-inch TFT display, ride-by-wire with four riding modes (Rain, Road, Sport and Track), traction control, cruise control, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and a bi-directional quickshifter. The TPMS offers full tyre pressure readout as well as low and high pressure warnings, which is first in its segment. Another segment-first is the rear monoshock with frequency selective damping (FSD). It uses a secondary valve system to automatically vary damping stiffness based on the frequency of road inputs. This variant gets three new colourways: Carbon Red, Carbon Black and Carbon White. The Carbon White colour features white coloured wheels and the Carbon Black colour gets gold coloured wheels, while the Carbon Red retains the standard black wheels.

The Xtreme 250R is exclusively available through Hero Premia dealerships, and deliveries will start from November.

All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
