Mahindra BE 6 report card

The Mahindra BE 6 was launched in India on November 26, 2024, marking the start of Mahindra’s new generation of born-electric SUVs based on the INGLO platform. Customer deliveries began on February 14, 2025, a few months after its debut. The BE 6 introduced Mahindra’s latest electric architecture along with two battery options and multiple variants. A year on from its launch, we take a closer look at how it has performed in the market so far.

  1. BE 6 records 15,639 units in total sales in its first year
  2. Prices remain unchanged since launch, ranging from Rs 18.90 lakh to Rs 26.90 lakh
  3. Mahindra introduced Batman special edition and Formula E variants during the first year

Mahindra BE 6 sales

Since launch, the BE 6 has accumulated 15,639 units in total sales, averaging just over 1,300 units per month across its first year.

Monthly volumes began at 991 units in February 2025 and gradually increased through the year, crossing the 2,000-unit mark in October 2025, which remains the model’s strongest month so far. Sales remained above the 1,300-unit mark towards the end of the year before settling at 1,028 units in January 2026.

The steady rise in monthly volumes can largely be attributed to Mahindra phasing deliveries across variants. Initially, deliveries began with the top-spec version, with other variants following later. Demand was particularly strong around the start of deliveries, with waiting periods stretching to up to six months in some regions.

Mahindra BE 6 price

The BE 6 is offered in multiple variants priced between Rs 18.90 lakh and Rs 26.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Notably, prices have remained unchanged since launch, even though most new cars typically see revisions after their introductory prices.

One possible reason could be the reduced taxation gap between EVs and ICE vehicles following GST 2.0 revisions, which lowered taxes on some internal combustion models. With the price difference between comparable ICE SUVs and EVs narrowing, manufacturers may be cautious about raising EV prices further. For Mahindra, keeping the BE 6’s pricing unchanged could help maintain its value proposition and support sales volumes in a segment where buyers can look at other EV options and similarly priced ICE SUVs.

Mahindra BE 6 milestones

Over its first year on sale, Mahindra has added three new variants to the BE 6 line-up, while no variants have been discontinued so far. The SUV has also received a special edition – the Batman Edition.

The limited-run BE 6 Batman Edition was initially announced with a production cap of 300 units, which Mahindra later increased to 999 units due to strong demand. The company said the model sold out in 135 seconds when bookings opened. Mahindra relisted the BE 6 Batman Edition on its website at Rs 28.49 lakh, which is Rs 70,000 higher than the earlier launch price of Rs 27.79 lakh. Following a booking period of 24 hours, this second batch of BE 6 Batman Edition sold out as well.

The BE 6 has not been subject to any recalls during its first year in the market. Overall, Mahindra’s updates during this period have focused mainly on expanding the variant mix and introducing themed versions, rather than making any mechanical revisions.

Mahindra BE 6 specifications

The BE 6 is offered with 59kWh and 79kWh battery packs, paired with rear-wheel-drive electric motors. The smaller battery version produces 231hp, while the larger pack delivers 286hp, with 380Nm of torque in both configurations. Mahindra claims an ARAI-certified range of 556km for the 59kWh variant and 682km for the 79kWh version.

Mahindra also offers a lifetime warranty on the battery pack, and says the battery can be charged from 20 to 80 percent in around 20 minutes using a 180kW DC fast charger.
