nissan magnite faq questions answered

The Nissan Magnite is the Japanese carmaker’s sole mass-market offering for the Indian market. It was first launched here in late 2020, and four years later, Nissan launched the facelifted Magnite in India. The Magnite facelift’s design updates and expanded list of features make the compact SUV a more compelling package, and we’ve answered a host of commonly asked questions about it below.

What is the Nissan Magnite price in India?

Base petrol model costs Rs 6.14 lakh

Nissan Magnite: your questions answered

The Nissan Magnite price starts at Rs 6.14 lakh and tops off at Rs 11.76 lakh for the petrol variants in India. Nissan recently added CNG variants to the Magnite line-up too, which start at Rs 6.89 lakh and go up to Rs 10.02 lakh. The Magnite’s on-road price in India should be in the Rs 7 lakh-14 lakh ballpark, depending on the chosen variant and city of registration.

Which Nissan Magnite variants are available in India?

Broad variant line-up offers lots of choice

Nissan Magnite: your questions answered

The Magnite range in India comprises six core trim levels, namely Visia, Visia+, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna, and Tekna+. Automatic transmission options are available across all the petrol Magnite variants, while the CNG variants can only be had with a manual gearbox.

Moreover, the Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna, and Tekna+ trims offer a stronger turbo-petrol engine than the naturally aspirated unit available in the Magnite’s entry-level variants.

Which engine options does the Nissan Magnite get?

1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol engines

Nissan Magnite: your questions answered

Two 3-cylinder petrol engines are on offer with the Nissan Magnite: a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated unit developing 72hp and 96Nm, and a 1.0-litre turbocharged motor that makes 100hp and 160Nm (152Nm with CVT).

The former can be had with either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT, while the stronger engine comes paired with either a 5-speed manual or CVT automatic gearbox. CNG variants of the Magnite are solely available with the naturally aspirated motor and 5-speed manual transmission.

What is the Nissan Magnite fuel efficiency?

Turbo-petrol MT is most frugal

Nissan Magnite: your questions answered

The 1.0-litre petrol variants of the Magnite deliver impressive ARAI-certified efficiency figures of 19.4kpl for the manual gearbox and 19.7kpl for the AMT, while the turbo-petrol CVT configuration has the lowest fuel efficiency of the line-up at 17.9kpl.

Conversely, the Magnite turbo-petrol manual variants offer the highest mileage here with an ARAI-certified 19.9kpl figure. We also tested the pre-facelift Magnite turbo-petrol’s real world fuel efficiency and recorded a 14.45kpl average for the manual version and a 11.65kpl average for the CVT. As for the CNG variants, Nissan has yet to release official fuel efficiency data for them.
