Follow usWhile a number of carmakers are making sunroofs more affordable, it may not be the most desirable feature for Indian car buyers. A study by Park+ Research Labs found that only 11 percent of the 6,000 car owners they surveyed said sunroofs are a must-have. Nonetheless, it is a popular feature offered by manufacturers, and even panoramic sunroofs are now available in mass-market models. The larger sunroofs do make a cabin feel more airy and let in more light. So, without further digression, here are the 10 cheapest ICE cars with a panoramic sunroof in India.
The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara gets a panoramic sunroof starting from its mid-spec Zeta(O) variant onwards. This Grand Vitara variant gets a 103hp, 137Nm 1.5-litre petrol engine with a mild-hybrid setup, and is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter gearbox. The lower-spec Grand Vitara Delta and Zeta trims can also be had with a factory-fitted CNG kit. The Grand Vitara strong hybrid variants get a petrol-electric powertrain developing a combined 116hp, mated to an e-CVT.
Essentially the Grand Vitara’s badge-engineered sibling, the Toyota Hyryder also gets a panoramic sunroof starting from its mid-spec G(O) NeoDrive trim. As expected, the Hyryder comes with the same powertrains and offers the same transmission options as the Grand Vitara.
The new Maruti Victoris gets a panoramic sunroof from the top-spec ZXI(O) variant. Since the Victoris is an Arena model, it is a slightly more affordable option than the Grand Vitara, which is sold via the premium Nexa outlets. Just like the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, the Victoris SUV's ZXI(O) trim has the same mild hybrid and strong hybrid powertrain options as the Grand Vitara. Lower-spec trims also offer a CNG powertrain.
Kia refreshed the Seltos early in 2025, adding multiple new variants to the range. The new mid-spec Seltos HTK(O) trim now serves as the baseline for a panoramic sunroof, and engine choices for this variant comprise two 1.5-litre engines – a 115hp, 144Nm petrol and a 116hp, 250Nm diesel. Buyers who opt for the Seltos GT-line variants and above can go for a 160hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. Transmission options for the Seltos include a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed iMT, a CVT, a 6-speed torque converter and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
Much like the Seltos, the Hyundai Creta line-up was rejigged recently with the addition of new variants. Of these, the Creta EX(O) trim is now the most affordable variant to come equipped with a panoramic sunroof. This variant can be had with the same petrol and diesel engines available on the Seltos, with higher Creta variants getting the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol motors.
The Tata Curvv coupe SUV gets a panoramic sunroof starting from its lower-spec Pure+ S trim. This specific variant comes equipped with a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine generating 120hp and 170Nm that's paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Higher Curvv variants offer a stronger 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine developing 125hp and 225Nm, as well as a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel that puts out 115hp and 260Nm. These engine options can be mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The Tata Nexon comes with a panoramic sunroof starting from the second-from-top-spec Creative+ PS variant. The Nexon stands out in this list as the only CNG SUV to offer a panoramic sunroof, in addition to its two petrol and one diesel engine options. The 120hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol comes with 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT and 7-speed dual-clutch auto gearbox options, while the diesel has 6-speed manual and AMT options. The Nexon CNG is only available with the 6-speed manual.
The February 2025 model year update of the MG Astor added a panoramic sunroof from the SUV's one above base Shine trim onwards. However, this refresh came alongside the discontinuation of the Astor’s 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine option - now, it only comes with the 110hp, 144Nm 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol mated to either a 5-speed manual or CVT gearbox.
Kia’s newly launched Syros compact SUV gets a panoramic sunroof from its HTK+ variant onwards, making it among the most affordable SUVs to offer this feature. Since space is one of Syros' core design tenets, it comes as no surprise that it's one of the few compact SUVs to get a panoramic sunroof in India. Syros engine options comprise a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel mill producing 116hp and 250Nm, and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol motor that’s good for 120hp and 172Nm. Transmission options for the Syros include a 6-speed manual as standard – the petrol can also be optioned with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, while the diesel can be had with a 6-speed torque converter.
The Mahindra XUV 3XO is currently the most affordable SUV with a panoramic sunroof, thanks to the RevX trim line launched in July 2025. In RevX A form, priced at Rs 10.75 lakh, the XUV 3XO is powered by a 131hp, 230Nm 1.2-litre three-cylinder direct-injection turbo-petrol engine, coupled with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter. There’s also a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel unit that develops 117hp and 300Nm, which can be had with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed AMT gearbox.
