Hero MotoCorp has registered its best-ever electric scooter sales in a single month in July 2025. As per the numbers available on the government’s Vahan website as of the publishing of this piece, the company has delivered 10,489 Vida scooters, surpassing the 10,000-unit monthly sales mark for the first time since it entered the electric two-wheeler industry in 2022.

  1. Vida VX2 was launched recently at a very affordable price
  2. Hero now has 10 percent share of the electric two-wheeler market
  3. It could cross 1 lakh unit sales cumulatively in 2025

Vida sales have risen from strength to strength

Vida VX2 likely contributing good margins to Hero’s electric sales.

Vida's July 2025 sales, which are a 107 percent year-on-year increase (July 2024: 5,067 units), have easily surpassed the company's previous monthly best of 8,040 units in March 2025. This has helped Hero MotoCorp achieve a 10 percent monthly market share for the first time from the 1.02 lakh electric two-wheelers retailed last month.

What’s more, CY2025 is turning out to be a record year for Hero MotoCorp’s EV business. From the 1,626 units sold in January this year to the 10,489 units in July, representing a 545 percent jump over seven months, Hero MotoCorp’s EVs are witnessing strong demand. What has strongly accelerated Vida sales last month is the launch of the new Vida VX2, which is priced tantalisingly low.

Will Vida cross 1 lakh unit sales in 2025?

The Vida brand’s performance since March 2025 has meant that cumulative seven-month retails for the year to date at 43,885 units have already surpassed the 43,710 units sold in 2024, when Hero MotoCorp had a 4 percent market share.

For the January-July 2025 period, the company’s market share stands at 6 percent. Given the current strong pace of monthly sales, and five months yet to go for 2025 to end, it is likely that Hero MotoCorp will get close to or even surpass the 1 lakh units annual sales milestone for the first time.
