The new Vida VX2 from Hero is one of a few electric scooters today that can be bought via the BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service) model. The idea behind this is to reduce the amount you need to pay when purchasing the scooter, thereby making the VX2 more accessible.

Hero Fincorp and Vidyuttech Services Pvt Ltd are the two financiers whose services can be availed when purchasing the Vida VX2 on the BaaS plan. It bears mentioning that when you buy a Vida VX2, unlike with the Honda Activa electric, battery ownership is tied to the scooter and not a part of the swapping network. You need to pay a fee every month, only if you opt for BaaS and don’t make an outright purchase, and once the plan duration is complete, you’ll get full ownership over the scooter and its batteries.

Payments for the VX2’s BaaS service differ with each plan, which we will break down along with its cost in this article.

Hero Vida VX2 Go BaaS costing explained

VX2 Go available with 2 plan options

The base VX2 Go variant is available for purchase with two distinct BaaS plans, depending on the duration chosen – 3 years or 5 years. The 3-year plan will cost you Rs 1.24 per km, and Hero says you must cover a minimum of 1,200km per month (approximately 40km every day), for which the monthly total bill will be Rs 1,488. The same charges will apply even if the entire 1,200km is not covered in the month.

For the 5-year plan, the company will charge you Rs 1.47 per km. It requires a lower monthly running of 750km (25km each day), and your monthly payment will work out to Rs 1,103.

Hero Vida VX2 Plus BaaS costing explained

VX2 Plus available with 3 plan options

Coming to the more expensive VX2 Plus variant, Hero offers you three BaaS plans with differing tenures. If you opt for the 2-year plan, Hero will charge you Rs 2,160 per month, which gives you a monthly distance of 2,400km. The per km charge for this plan is the lowest in the entire VX2 line-up, at Rs 0.90.

Stepping up to the 3-year plan will cost you Rs 1,584 a month, giving you a monthly distance of 1,600km. The per km charge here is slightly higher at Rs 0.99. Finally, the most affordable plan, where a 5-year tenure gives you a monthly distance of 800km, while costing you Rs 1,128 every month. This plan charges Rs 1.41 per km.

Over and above these monthly charges, customers will have to pay a one-time fee of Rs 1,199 to cover stamp duty and documentation charges. Recently, Hero has rolled out introductory offers on the Vida VX2 models, bringing their already competitive prices down even further; to read more about that, tap HERE.
