India’s premier motor show, the Auto Expo 2025, is underway, and some big names have shown and launched key models specifically for our market. Here’s a lowdown of all the two-wheeler launches, unveils and concepts from the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.
Ampere
Ampere showcased a range of new EVs at the Expo, including a brand-new electric bike concept. The Xyber e-bike concept has a claimed range of ‘up to 200km on a single charge’ and both AC and DC fast-charging capabilities. The company also showed a B2B-oriented e-scooter called the Xpress, although it's not exactly production-ready yet. Last but not the least, Ampere revealed two new variants of the Nexus, called the Exec and S Turismo, with different graphics, a more powerful motor and faster charging times.
BMW
BMW launched two new bikes at the show, the first was the updated S 1000 RR and the second was the new R 1300 GS Adventure. The S 1000 RR gains bigger wings and a new front fender for 2025, and at Rs 21.20 lakh, gets a Rs 45,000 price increase. The R 1300 GS Adventure is an all-new model that builds upon the new 1300 GS platform, with a 30 litre tank, radar-assisted rider aids and BMW’s ASA system. At Rs 22.95 lakh, it is Rs 45,000 more expensive than the previous 1250 GSA and a substantial Rs 1.75 lakh more than the standard R 1300 GS.
Hero
Hero launched four new products – the most by any manufacturer. The long-awaited Xoom 125 and Xoom 160 scooters have finally seen the light of day, and Hero also launched the Xpulse 210 and the Xtreme 250R. Bookings for these four products will begin in February and deliveries will commence in March.
Honda
At the Expo, Honda finally revealed the pricing for both its electric scooters for India. The budget-friendly QC1 is priced at Rs 90,000, while the premium Activa e: starts at Rs 1.17 lakh and goes up to Rs 1.52 lakh for the RoadSync Duo variant.
Suzuki
Suzuki is another Japanese player that will soon enter the Indian EV market with the e-Access electric scooter. The e-Access is based on an all-new platform and will be made in India and exported. Suzuki also launched the updated Access 125 scooter, its bread-and-butter model in India, at Rs 81,700 with revised styling, a larger underseat storage and a few more features. When it comes to bikes, the company launched the Gixxer SF 250 Flex Fuel, which can run on E85 fuel, at Rs 2.17 lakh. The Gixxer SF 250 joins the Honda CB300F in India in the small but growing list of flex fuel-compatible bikes in India.
TVS
TVS’ Apache RTX 300 adventure bike was leaked from the show floor of the Auto Expo and this will be the first model from TVS to be powered by its new 299cc mill. The RTX 300 is a road-biased ADV that runs on 19/17-inch alloy wheels and, from the factory, comes kitted out with luggage and crash protection accessories. The company also revealed the RTSX supermoto concept, which previews a future model based on the new RTX-D4 engine.
In the scooter space, the company showed the Jupiter CNG, confirming our earlier scoop. The CNG Jupiter is based on the 125cc model and can run on both petrol and CNG. The company also showcased a very futuristic Vision iQube concept, which previewed the design theme that iQube models down the line could debut.
VinFast
VinFast showcased five electric scooters at the Auto Expo: Klara S, Theon S, Feliz S, Vento S, and Evo200. All of these are powered by a 3.5kWh LFP battery. In terms of range, the company claims lofty numbers of 190-210km on a single charge, depending on the model. Interestingly, VinFast has patented the design of the Klara S e-scooter in India. When a manufacturer does this, it's often a sign that the product will eventually go on sale.
Yamaha
Yamaha debuted the new FZ-S Fi Hybrid bike at the show, and the hybrid tech on this bike comes courtesy of an ISG, similar to those found on Yamaha and TVS scooters, which provides a small electric boost to bump up the bike's maximum output. The FZ Hybrid will be the first bike to go on sale in India with this tech.
Yamaha showcased its Tenere 700 ADV but has ruled out an India launch for this model in the immediate future. However, the silver lining is the Lander XTZ 250 dualsport, which was shown at the Expo to gauge market interest, and given enough demand, the company could launch this bike down the line. The Lander is powered by the same quarter-litre mill as the erstwhile FZ25.
Yamaha also confirmed that it will be making its R7 and MT-09 SP available on an order-only basis in our country. However, it will be a CBU, so expect a price premium over its competition.
Manufacturers like Ather Energy, River and Ola Electric were also present at the Expo with their existing line-up. Bajaj was at the show, too, but its stall only had the Freedom CNG bike.
