Confirming our previous scoop, TVS has now revealed the Jupiter CNG scooter at the ongoing Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Just like the Bajaj Freedom, the Jupiter CNG is powered by both CNG and petrol.

  1. Jupiter CNG has a claimed mileage of 84km/kg
  2. 80kph claimed top speed, same design as Jupiter 125
  3. No storage space since the CNG cylinder is under the seat

Visually, the Jupiter CNG is nearly indistinguishable from the Jupiter 125 scooter, save for the CNG sticker on the front. However, underneath its familiar skin, it is very different. For starters, TVS has plonked a CNG cylinder under the seat, which can hold 1.4kg (9.5 litres) of the gas. And just like the Bajaj Freedom CNG bike, this is supplied by Vanaz.

The 124.8cc, single-cylinder engine is rated for 7.2hp at 6,000rpm and 9.4Nm of torque at 5,500rpm, which is a little lower than the petrol-only Jupiter 125, which makes 8.1hp and 10.5Nm. Since the peak output is lower, expect the Jupiter CNG’s performance to also be relatively lethargic. TVS claims a top speed of 80.5kph. The upside of this reduced performance is fuel efficiency, and TVS claims 84km/kg for the Jupiter CNG with a total range figure (petrol+CNG) of 226km.

Because the Jupiter CNG scooter has its gas tank under the seat, there is absolutely no storage space available there, and one of the Jupiter 125’s trump cards (its 33-litre boot, the largest in the ICE scooter game) has not been transferred over here.

In terms of features, the Jupiter CNG is identical to the Jupiter 125 and has a digi-analogue display, a small cubby on the front apron with a USB charger and start/stop tech.

The petrol Jupiter 125 is priced between Rs 79,540 and Rs 90,721 (ex-showroom, Delhi), and we expect the Jupiter CNG to be in the same ballpark, perhaps a little higher but its launch is not imminent as it stands today. While the Jupiter CNG is more or less production ready the company is still evaluating market demand and will launch the scooter when it believes the time is right.
