Things to know before choosing your Dzire variant
- The range starts with the LXi, which gets the 1.2-litre petrol engine and a manual gearbox. Prices increase once you go up through the VXi to the ZXi and then the ZXi+.
- The AMT costs more than the manual on the VXi, ZXi and ZXi+ variants.
- CNG costs more than petrol on the same variant, while choosing a CNG model with the AMT costs more again.
- The sunroof, the 360-degree camera, cruise control and the larger 9-inch screen arrive only on the ZXi+, which is the highest trim.
- The price increase from the LXi to the VXi mainly gets you features such as infotainment and rear AC vents. Safety remains the same, with six airbags, stability control and ISOFIX anchors offered on all variants.
The on-road price also includes registration, road tax and insurance. These costs vary from state to state, which is why the same Dzire can cost more in one city than another.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire FAQs
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire ZXi MT offers the best value for most buyers. It comes equipped with key features such as LED headlamps, alloy wheels, cruise control, connected car tech, rear AC vents, and a well-rounded comfort and convenience package. While the top-spec ZXi+ adds features like an electric sunroof and a 360-degree camera, it commands a premium of around Rs 68,000. For buyers who prioritise value and essential features over a few premium additions, the ZXi MT is the sweet spot in the Dzire lineup.
Questions you may find useful
I’m confused between the Maruti Suzuki Dzire ZXI+ AMT and Honda Amaze VX CVT for my first family car. Both have an on-road price of around Rs. 11 lakh. But, the Dzire offers more features, including a 360° camera, sunroof, and TPMS, while the Amaze has a CVT transmission and a good reputation for reliability. Which one would you recommend for a first family car?
For a first family car, we would lean towards the Honda Amaze VX CVT. Its CVT is noticeably smoother than the Dzire’s AMT, especially in stop start traffic, and the more relaxed transmission makes it easier to live with. The Amaze also has a larger 416 litre boot, which is useful for family trips. The Maruti Suzuki Dzire ZXi+ AMT counters with more features, including a 360 degree camera, sunroof and TPMS, along with better fuel efficiency. However, its AMT has noticeable pauses between gear shifts, whereas the Amaze’s CVT feels more seamless.
Hi! My annual running is around 9,000km in the city and 3,000km on highways. Should I buy the petrol Maruti Suzuki Dzire ZXi or the Brezza VXi with the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and manual transmission? The Brezza felt a bit too wide and large for city use, and making U-turns is likely to be more difficult than in the Dzire. I also found the Brezza's softer seats potentially tiring over a 500km highway drive. I'm concerned that the turbo-petrol engine will be more complicated to maintain because of GPF cleaning requirements and the need for RON 95 fuel. Carbon build-up could also be an issue, given that only 30% of my annual running is on highways. On hills, I wonder if the turbo engine will leave me wanting more. By contrast, the Dzire felt more nimble and easy to manoeuvre. Its 15-inch tyres should also be fine for highway use. At cruising speeds below 100kph with two or three people on board, wouldn't it be nearly as good as the Brezza? The popular Z12E engine should also get an upgrade if E27 becomes the baseline fuel. However, would the heavier Brezza be safer in a crash? I plan to sell the car after four or five years, by which time the EV market should have stabilised. Wouldn't the petrol Dzire also have better resale value than the Brezza? Given my usage, what are the reasons I should seriously consider the Brezza?
From what you have described, go for the Maruti Suzuki Dzire. You clearly prefer its compact dimensions, lighter feel and easy manoeuvrability, and with 9,000km of city driving annually, these advantages will matter far more often than the Brezza's higher ground clearance or SUV stance. The Dzire should also be perfectly capable of comfortable highway cruising at under 100kph with two or three occupants. The Brezza's main reasons for consideration are its higher ground clearance, more commanding driving position, more potent turbo petrol engine and greater flexibility on rough roads. However, if you already find it too wide for city use and have concerns about its engine and long term maintenance, there is little reason to stretch yourself into it.Both the new Dzire and Brezza have been crash-tested, so the comparison should use their actual ratings rather than assume the heavier SUV is safer. The new Dzire scored 5 stars for adult and child occupant protection under Bharat NCAP. The Maruti Suzuki Brezza has also received a five-star BNCAP rating for both adult and child protection. So, there is no reason to choose the Brezza solely because you assume it will be safer in a crash.
Hi, I am Shailesh. I am a first time owner and comfortable with a budget of Rs. 10.50 lakh (on-road). I have compared it across segments like Dzire VXi AGS, Honda Amaze V CVT, Skoda Kylaq Classic Plus Automatic and Fronx Delta Plus AGS. I want to buy it for my 65 year old mother as well as for my daily commute to office in Pune traffic. I prefer an automatic and safe car with highly comfortable back seat, but the variants should have most of the essential features such as seat height adjustment, rear AC vents. The car should be low maintenance and offer hassle free service experience. I want a car that delivers decent mileage and no sunroof would be great. I would like to keep the car for the next 5 to 7 years without any issues (possibly for 10 years). I want it to be compliant with future ethanol blends such as E25 or E27 and that is why Brezza NA VXi TC came into my mind and it is available for Rs. 12.50 lakh. My monthly running would be around 600 to 800km. Which car makes sense for me considering my driving would include 72% running in the city and 28% on highway. I am planning to get Brezza VXi NA Manual at Rs. 10.50 lakh but I would like your opinion.
Given your requirements, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire VXI AGS comes across as your best option. It is a proven product that is spacious, easy-to-drive and very comfortable car, and it's backed by Maruti's strong support network. Thanks to its three-cylinder petrol engine, fuel efficiency will also be better than all other options listed. Sure, its 5-speed AMT is not feel as seamless and smooth as that of the Amaze or Kylaq, which offer more sophisticated automatic transmissions, however going by AMT standards, it is still reasonably jerk-free. Furthermore, the VXI AGS variant has a driver's seat height adjustment and rear AC vents, which you're looking for; ride comfort is terrific and its back seat is spacious and more comfortable than most options listed. The Brezza 1.5 AT has a more sophisticated powertrain compared to the Dzire, but it is also more expensive. Hence as far as value goes, the Dzire VXI AGS is better and seems like the more sensible choice.
Hi, I am currently driving Maruti Suzuki Dzire VXI petrol for daily running of 70 km. I am planning to upgrade to a hybrid/CNG/EV with decent features. What are the options under Rs. 15 Lakh?
With a daily running of 70km, you are clocking over 25,000km a year, so fuel efficiency and running costs become very important. Since you are coming from a Dzire VXI, reliability and low maintenance are likely priorities as well.CNG is the most cost-effective option for your usage, and the Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG is the most sensible upgrade. It is a practical, reliable SUV with a factory-fitted CNG kit, good service reach and low running costs. The Brezza CNG also offers a decent feature set and a comfortable ride, making it a very easy car to live with.If you are open to EVs and have access to home charging, the Tata Nexon EV is worth considering. It will offer the lowest running costs and a more premium cabin, but only if your daily route is predictable and you can charge at home. Otherwise, CNG remains the more practical choice.Hybrids like the Maruti Suzuki Victoris Hybrid or Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Hybrid are excellent for your use case, but they won't fall under your budget of Rs 15 lakh.Overall, the Brezza CNG is the most sensible upgrade for your usage and budget.
I want a CNG car primarily for good mileage and comfort. I am considering the Maruti Suzuki Dzire CNG and Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG. Please suggest which one would be better for me.
Go for the Maruti Suzuki Dzire CNG. It is the better choice if your priorities are mileage, comfort and overall ownership experience. The Dzire CNG is lighter, more aerodynamic and more efficient than the Brezza CNG, so you will see better fuel economy in both city and highway driving. It also has a comfortable suspension setup, which makes it good for daily commuting and long drives. The Maruti Brezza CNG is a good car, but it is heavier and less efficient, and the higher ground clearance does not really add much value unless you specifically need an SUV. If you want the best mileage and comfort in a CNG car, the Dzire CNG is the clear choice.
