The diesel engine is good for 173hp and 350Nm of torque and is currently available in both BS4 and BS6-spec. The BS4 version comes with a 6-speed manual only while the BS6-compliant version comes with a 9-speed automatic and is only available on the Trailhawk. Jeep India is currently working on introducing the Trailhawk’s 9-speed automatic and its BS6-compliant engine to the rest of the Compass range. As for its rivals, the Compass takes on the MG Hector, Tata Harrier and Kia Seltos.
