  3. Toyota says it won’t start production of the Innova EV anytime soon

The all-electric Innova is powered by a 59.3kWh lithium-ion battery pack that makes up to 179hp and a massive 700Nm of torque. While the battery can be juiced up with both AC and DC charging systems, Toyota remains tight-lipped about the Innova EV’s maximum range.

The 2025 iteration of the Innova EV concept is a slight departure from the current diesel-powered Innova Crysta in the styling department. Up front, the nearly closed-off grille area is flanked by the recognisable angular headlights, which are now connected via a light strip and feature new LED signatures. The bumper has slimmer fog lights, and the Toyota badge gets a blue accent to hammer the EV point home.

Blue and grey decals run across the side profile; the roof and pillars are blacked out, and it rides on new 16-inch alloy wheels. On the rear, the MPV has translucent, connected LED tail-lamps with new signatures and blue borders, as well as ‘BEV’ badging on the boot lid.

Unlike the exterior, the Innova EV’s cabin retains some similarities with the Innova Crysta, but it notably features a flat floor under which the battery pack is located, opening up extra room for rear passengers. Dual-tone upholstery, the lack of a gear lever and electric blue accents around the gauges help differentiate its cabin. Creature comforts include a large infotainment screen, leather-wrapped steering wheel, a digital driver readout, captain seats in the second row, wireless charging, ambient lighting, and more.

Toyota maintains that the Innova EV concept is not destined for production any time soon.
