After debuting the Ebella in January this year, Toyota has finally revealed its price in India. The top-spec E3 variant has been launched at Rs 23.60 lakh (ex-showroom). The Ebella is a rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, and its top trim comes with a 61kWh battery pack, which has a claimed range of 543km. Bookings for the Toyota Ebella have been underway since January this year.

Notably, the top-spec Ebella costs Rs 3.60 lakh more than the equivalent e Vitara variant, which is priced at Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). Like the e Vitara, the Ebella can be purchased with the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) scheme, although the company is yet to provide a detailed breakdown of BaaS prices. The Toyota Ebella’s entry- and mid-level trim prices are also awaited.
Toyota Ebella powertrain, battery and range
The Ebella gets the same 49kWh and 61kWh battery pack options as the Maruti e Vitara. While the smaller battery, available only on the base E1 trim, returns a claimed range of 440km, the 61kWh unit in the E2 and E3 trims is rated at 543km. Both are powered by a front-axle electric motor, producing 144hp with the 49kWh setup and 174hp on the 61kWh variants; torque is rated at 193Nm for both. Toyota, however, hasn’t revealed any charging details.
Toyota Ebella exterior and colours
Compared to the e Vitara, the Ebella gets a completely unique fascia, but elsewhere, it’s largely the same as its Maruti counterpart. The Ebella distinguishes itself with triangular LED headlamps with segmented LED daytime running lamps (DRLs), a gloss-black sealed-off grille and a neat-looking dual-tone bumper with functional air vents on either side. It also gets a unique design for the 18-inch alloy wheels, but every other body panel, and even the rear lighting elements, are identical to the e Vitara.
There are five monotone and four dual-tone colour options. The former includes Cafe White, Bluish Black, Gaming Grey, Sportin Red and Enticing Silver. The dual-tone colour options are Cafe White, Land Breeze Green, Sportin Red and Enticing Silver, all with a black roof.
Toyota Ebella interior and features
The interior, too, is very similar to the e Vitara’s, save for the Toyota badge on the steering wheel. Even the dual-tone brown-and-black colour scheme has been carried forward unchanged. On the equipment front, the Ebella gets a 10.1-inch digital driver’s display, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, sliding, reclining and 40:20:40 split-folding rear seats, 12-colour ambient lighting and a JBL sound system.
As for safety, it gets 7 airbags, and disc brakes on all four wheels are standard. Other features include a 360-degree camera, front parking sensors and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold. A Level 2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems) suite with lane-keep assist and adaptive cruise control is limited to the top E3 trim.
Toyota says it is offering an 8-year battery warranty and a 60 percent buyback assurance scheme with the Ebella, which will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, Vinfast VF6, MG ZS EV and Tata Curvv EV.
