Renault Triber facelift launch details

The Renault Triber facelift is expected to launch in India on July 23. This will be the first major update for the compact MPV since its launch in 2019, and it is expected to bring in cosmetic updates along with more features. Mechanically, however, the Triber will likely remain unchanged.

  1. Triber facelift to get new LED headlamps, new bumpers
  2. Interior could see new trims and upholstery, along with added features
  3. Expected to carry over 72hp, 1.0-litre petrol engine unchanged

Renault Triber facelift: what to expect?

Camouflaged test mules have hinted at a thoroughly redesigned fascia for the Triber facelift. It will get reprofiled headlamps with new LED daytime running lamps as well as a new grille design; the bumper will also sport a much larger central air intake and restyled fog lamps. Interestingly, some of these design updates are also expected to be seen on Nissan’s version of this MPV, which is due to go on sale early next year.

However, revisions to the profile and at the rear are a lot more limited. The facelift is expected to get a new set of wheels, redesigned tail-lamps and a new rear bumper, but there aren’t going to be any major sheet metal changes.

Renault Triber facelift to remain mechanically unchanged

On the powertrain front, we expect the Triber facelift to carry on with the current model’s 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 72hp and 96Nm. Gearbox options will most likely remain the same, comprising a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. The Triber is long overdue for a more powerful turbo-petrol engine, but that’s unlikely even with this update.

The Triber sits in a niche segment of its own as the only compact 7-seat MPV until it is joined by its Nissan sibling next year. Expect a slight price hike with this update.

Poll of the month

There will be 12 new Citroen and Jeep launches by 2030. Will this boost interest in these brands?

Yes, fresh models is just what's needed.
Only if sales and service expands alongside.
Won't be enough. Established brands are too strong.
