MG Motor India has added a new mid-spec variant to the ZS EV’s range called the Excite Pro. Priced at Rs 19.98 lakh, MG claims that the introduction of the new variant makes the ZS EV India’s only all-electric car under Rs 20 lakh with a dual-pane panoramic sunroof.

MG ZS EV Excite Pro: what’s new

This new trim costs Rs 1 lakh more than the base ZS EV Executive variant, but is priced Rs 4 lakh less than the new Exclusive Plus trim. While the exact features list for the Excite Pro has yet to be revealed, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof is on offer. Expect a similar list of creature comforts and safety kit as the now discontinued Excite variant.

The brand has also revised its EV’s line-up. There are still four variants on offer, but the Excite trim has been replaced by the Excite Pro; the Exclusive has become the Exclusive Plus; and the Exclusive Pro is now called the Essence. The features available on each trim should be equivalent to the outgoing variants, with the top-spec Essense getting kit like a 360-degree camera, a 10.1-inch touchscreen, wireless charger, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and connected car tech. Safety features include ADAS, six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control and hill descent control.

All trims come with the same 50.3kWh battery pack that has an ARAI range of 461km, and a front axle-mounted 177hp electric motor.

In the face of increasing competition from the Tata Nexon EV and the recently updated Mahindra XUV400, it seems like MG Motor India is making sure its EVs have enough buyers.
