2026 Mercedes C Class EV teaser details

Three pointed star-like DRLs in headlights

The new C Class teaser image was shown during the recent GLC EV reveal. Almost the entire exterior of the Mercedes sedan is hidden, save for a few illumination bits at the front. The central grille is similar to that of the electric GLC and features a multitude of illuminated dots placed very close to each other. Even the centrally placed three-pointed star is illuminated, and it also marks its presence in the headlight units in a DRL form. Interestingly, the C Class EV’s sealed-off grille has 4 horizontal slats, something that just the S Class flagship features in the carmaker’s sedan portfolio. Air vents appear to be below it, with a parking sensor on each side.

The teaser also sheds some light on the car’s rear end, exposing the triangular rear quarter glass section, which now has a softer, more rounded lower corner compared to the sharper, more angular treatment on the current C Class.

2026 Mercedes C Class EV range, platform

MB.EA platform, 800km brand claimed range

“The Mercedes-Benz electric architecture (MB.EA) for the core segment accommodates the C Class, GLC and E Class. For the future electric C Class, we are looking at 800km of range, thanks to outstanding efficiency,” Mercedes CEO Ola Kallenius stated.

Not only will the new C Class share its MB.EA architecture with the GLC EV, the sedan is going to have a similar set of powertrains, too. That means 374hp single motor and 489hp dual-motor (AWD) setups are extremely likely. The sedan may also go on to borrow the GLC’s 94kWh 800V battery pack, which supports charging speeds of up to 330kW. GLC’s NMC battery, for reference, takes about 24 minutes to charge from 10-80 percent, allowing for a 303km (WLTP) top-up in just 10 minutes.
