UPDATE: Maruti Suzuki XL6 launched at Rs 9.80 lakh

Maruti Suzuki’s new XL6 – the Ertiga-based crossover that will retail via the brand’s Nexa dealerships – will be launched tomorrow. We have now received information that provides details that were unknown before: namely the features on offer with each variant and a few specifications details. The new info also confirms a number of details we previously reported, including the 1.5-litre BS6 petrol engine with mild-hybrid tech (Maruti’s Smart Hybrid system), 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic gearbox options and two trims – Zeta and Alpha.

While we had reported earlier on the XL6’s dimensions and engine details, we can now confirm that the six-seater in petrol-manual form has an ARAI-rated 19.01kpl fuel-efficiency figure, while the petrol-AT model delivers 17.99kpl. This is especially interesting because despite being about 10kg heavier than the Ertiga (1,180kg for the manual and 1,190kg for the automatic XL6), the mileage figures are identical. In addition, with all three rows up, the XL6’s boot space is rated at 209 litres, which increases to 550 litres with the third row and 692 litres with the second and third row folded.

Without further ado, here is a list of all the features – including the engine-gearbox options – that will be available with the Maruti Suzuki XL6 trims:
