Mahindra is looking to lower the Thar 3-door’s MY2024 inventory before the start of the next year by offering discounts and benefits that are even higher than those during Diwali. The second-gen Thar has been quite a successful model, with monthly sales averaging over 6,500 units at the wholesale level between June and November.
The lifestyle off-roader comes with three engine options: a 152hp, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol, a 132hp, 2.2-litre diesel, and a 119hp, 1.5-litre diesel. The first two come paired with either a manual or an automatic gearbox and optional 4x4 tech. The 1.5-litre diesel unit comes with a manual transmission only. Mahindra Thar 4WD discounts in December 2024
Discounts up to Rs 3.06 lakh
The total discounts and benefits on the 4WD variants of the 3-door off-roader, particularly the Thar Earth Edition, amount to a whopping Rs 3.06 lakh. Launched in February this year, the Earth Edition has a unique matte shade that Mahindra calls ‘Desert Fury’, along with special ‘Earth Edition’ badges on the B-pillars and rear fenders. The interior gets a similar colour scheme, with the leatherette upholstery finished in dual-tone shades of beige and black. The Earth Edition is based on the higher-spec LX hardtop variant and is priced between Rs 15.40 lakh and Rs 17.60 lakh. And buyers can get up to Rs 1.06 lakh off on the standard Thar 4WD range, which costs between Rs 14.30 lakh and 17.20 lakh.
Mahindra Thar 2WD discounts in December 2024
Discounts up to Rs 1.31 lakh
The petrol-powered 2WD versions of the Mahindra Thar 3-door get massive discounts of up to Rs 1.31 lakh during December, an increase of Rs 31,000 from the last month. Meanwhile, the benefits offered on the diesel 2WD versions amount to Rs 56,000. The Thar 2WD range is currently priced between Rs 11.35 lakh and Rs 14.10 lakh.
